DETROIT AUTO SHOW: Will Audi Upset The Apple Cart With A RS7 Debut Next Week?
Between the RS5 Cabrio, SQ5 TSI and the US debut of the latest R8, Audi will have plenty of high-performance machinery on display at the Detroit Auto Show. But reports suggest that the Ingolstadt automaker may have one more trick up its sleeve to pull out before the doors close at the Cobo Center. In its rundown of what to expect at the Detroit show this year, Auto Express points to circulating rumors that Audi will pull the veil off of the new RS7, a hot version of the German automaker's flagship four-door coupe.

The RS7 will put intense pressure on the BMW M6 Gran Coupe and Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG considering its weaker S7 sibling was able to beat the significantly more powerful Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG.

Not to mention the Audi S7 was also able to beat the BMW 650i xDrive Gran Coupe and Mercedes-Benz CLS550 4Matic in the recent Road and Track comparison test.

The only reservation I have about the RS7 is how the bubble wheel flares as seen on the RS6 will fit the boxier shape of the RS7.

What up Chewy? Long time no see. I would have to bring a different side to what you have stated. The problem for me would be the fact that the s7 would not change in appearance. So there are really no major changes, but probably a 15% or less horse power gain. Which would seem under whelming in comparison to Bavarian's 4 door coupe M variant which is a second faster than the M5. However, Audi have been known to intentionally put false power numbers out there so they can gain an advantage over their opponent.

Not an Audi fan (because of numb handling feel) but have to admire the way they keep rolling one new model after another onto the market while others seem to be standing still.

A7 has one of the most awkward/ugliest rear ends IMO. For me the new E63amg, and M6 GC will outshine this hatchback.

Gorgeous Car!! That numb feeling for BMW trying to please ALL driving experiences, is why I didn't go back for another 5 series. Loved it but my new Audi S6 has been a dream to drive.
