Not a style that would be on my shopping list, but it looks quite stunning in these pictures. Not sure about the vent (real? faux?) behind the front wheels. I'd have to see the car in person.

The vent on the front fender is real.

BMW attributes it to aerodynamic purposes, something that has to do with the front valence's Air Curtain I am reasonably sure.

It's already been spotted on other future BMWs, namely the upcoming X5.

Doubt it....

I say its more to do with venting all the heat from Turbocharged Engines.

I think it is safe to say all Engines going forward will be Turbo or Twin Turbos and i guess they decided to make the extra vents a Feature as opposed to an afterthought.

Might be wrong though....

yup. totally inconsistent with an otherwise good design. too busy-looking

The fender vent and bumper covers spoil what is otherwise a tasteful design. And then there's the wacky interior. Perhaps a lot of it isn't intended for production.

Front end on this and the E63 are hard to love...rear end on this is horrible...everything in between is really nice though. Hopefully Alpina or some other aftermarket designer can finish this off correctly.

JRobUSC - What do you think of the 2 huge air intakes in the front of this 4? How do they compare to the E-AMG's intakes?

I'm really like this one more and more and am drooling to see the 4 Grand Coupe. Hoping, price-wise, that the larger-engined versions will be viable options for me when it's time to trade my current ride.

but, as I've stated prior, I'm hoping that they add SOMETHING to the interiors to make them more appealing than the 3Series sedan's interior.

it looks pretty good. there are some styling elements i expect to be toned down on the production car, but this is a huge improvement on the previous coupe, which i found VERY boring (EVERYONE else liked it, but i preferred the sedan and wagon).

also, i think that leather interior looks like it belongs in a car AT LEAST twice as expensive...looks like a Nokona baseball glove.

i don't like the exhaust/bumper arrangement. why make something as simple as an automobile's anus so complex?

The only think that I like about this new 4-Series coupe is the side profile. In my opinion I think the current BMW 3-Series coupe is a better overall design.

And I don't like the side vent behind the front wheels either. The front and back bumper look really weird so I am hoping the M-kit version is better looking.

Anyone up here know the spec under the engine for this 4-Series coupe? : )
