Jeremy Clarkson reviews the Audi RS4

Audi’s appeal, I think, is twofold. First, the cars are beautifully made. And second they are not BMWs.

The RS 4 is different, however, partly because it was tested on Britain’s roads and partly because right now there is no up-to-date M3 version of the current BMW 3-series. If you want a small fast saloon then it’s the Audi or nothing. So what’s it like? Well, it certainly looks the part with puffed-up shoulders and fat tyres hinting at some serious firepower. And it delivers, too, thanks to a 4.2 litre V8 engine that develops 414bhp. That’s 70 more than the old M3.

In the actual Top Gear episode, he said that the RS4's engine is quite possibly the best engine ever made and that the next M3 will have to come with a free moon to be better than the RS4.

iamevilhomer, most cars have different suspension settings in europe. the a8 is noted here for having fairly firm suspension, but thus having a complete lack of noticable body roll.
the r class mercedes' suspension is very different for the uk, it is very soft in america, firm for the uk. same applies for the q7.

I had a chance to drive the RS4 alone on the roads outside of Dallas in June for an afternoon, I own a E36 M3 and have driven the E46 many times and I have to say Audi has come a long way in terms of both performance and quality.......fair and balanced

Nope. If there was something "bad" about Audis, I would say it. So far I haven't seen anything "bad" form Audi.

So far you have not seen anything "bad" from Audi? Care to look at their absolutely pitiful reliability? How does one boast about a car's performance when it spends so much time in the service bay? Are bragging rights about horse power and torque only for the bragging? Is there anything in the dependability and reliability of a car that interests you in any way or only the fact that it has x number of hp and so much torque?

A car enthusiast ought to be able to look at various aspects of a car.
