DETROIT AUTO SHOW: FACE OFF — Chevrolet Corvette vs. SRT Viper
Likely the most hyped and most followed car making its Detroit Auto Show debut was the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. It's no surprise that one of America's automotive icons garnered a significant chunk of attention at one of the U.S.' biggest auto events.

On Sunday when it finally was revealed in the flesh, we have to say that we were impressed. Though the sketches and drawings we had prior to the official reveal were pretty damn accurate, it's completely different to see it in the metal. And considering Agent 001 shoots the best photos in the biz, it really made it a new experience.

And while we examined the comments and looked closely at the new car ourselves, it was readily apparent that the all-new Corvette boasted a similar look to its American bredrin, the SRT Viper.

While its side profile and hind quarters are completely different, both cars do share similar-looking faces. The LED headlights and wide mouths — more or less — seem to be the features that drive this on home.

That said, I've got to ask:

Do the all-new Chevrolet Corvette and SRT Viper look took similar in the "face" department?

The Viper for me! It has a more cohesive design. It is a one piece design. The Corvette however, seems like a "hodge-pog" of designs cues bought together under one roof, literately. I really want to like the Corvette but I don't.

New Corvette is a game changer both style wise and performance wise. Credit GM for new design...great look with lots of expansion potential to differentiate GrandSport, Z06, ZR1. Lets not forget in recent head to head old Z06 outperformed new Viper. Old Viper looks stood out from the pack...now the Corvette does.

Corvette just does not have the style. It loos like something out of a cartoon.

Viper has one use for me, something to relieve myself on.

Corvette is ill-handling american junk.

Smart Euro and Smart Asian everytime!

LOL! Because everybody would rather drive a Smart ForTwo than either a Viper or Corvette.

10 years ago I was a fan of Ferrari and hated Lambo, and a fan of the Corvette and hated the Viper.

I flipped on all these. Viper and Lambo know what they are and aren't making copies of every stupid design out there.

Corvette front looks way too similar to the Viper's, right down to the bright white strip on the bottom/outer edge of each headlight.

The Corvette is gorgeous (and will probably be much more imposing in “person,” while the Viper is attractive too, though not on the same level.

The taillight cluster of the Viper all most kills it, with some really odd blackout trip seen no where else on the cars’ exterior, while the Vette just looks good, like a perfect suit.
