Nissan Planning To Introduce Sports Car To Tackle The FR-S
The Japanese based automaker Nissan has recently announced its plans to introduce a new sports car which will be slotted below the facelifted 370Z.

The upcoming small Nissan sports car will not be a rival for the Toyota GT 86 / Scion FR-S or Subaru BRZ and it will be aimed towards younger drivers, following the same path as the Juke. The model in question has been recently confirmed for production by Andy Palmer, the company’s vice president, in an interview with Car and Driver.

Unfortunately it may be the 2014 Datsun 240Z with the chassis and maybe the engine of the Juke.

Confused. Headline says it'll tackle FR-S. Yet article states it will "not be a rival" to the FR-S.

Further confusion: "..and it will be aimed towards younger drivers"

Younger drivers than FRS/BRZ? Those cars are targeted for adolescents looking for sporty cars that can be modded and I imagine the 18-25 demographic (especially males) is the target. How much younger are we talking here? The 16-18 crowd??

Maybe they mean a younger driver than the driver of the 370Z.

So, despite 009's confusing title, it sounds like this car will be "sporty" vs. a "sports car", probably like a MIata-type execution.

Ironically, it says it's aiming at younger buyers like the Juke did. The only people I've ever seen driving Jukes are, very oddly, about 70 years old.
