GM Figures Out What We Have Been Telling You All Along - Next Gen Volt Will Cost Thousands Less
GM North America President Mark Reuss said that the automaker plans to cut the cost of the next-generation Volt by thousands of dollars.

Although GM didn’t say when the next-generation Volt will hit the market, it announced that the price of the vehicle will be reduced by thousands of dollars. As customers are drawn back from buying electric vehicles due to their high price, automakers are trying to find a solution to this problem. Nissan also announced at the Detroit auto show that it will cut the price for its electric Leaf with about $6,000 to a base price of $28,800

The Agents are too funny. Everybody already knows that, even way back then. It's kind of like "I told you the sun was going to rise in the East". Now if your point is "wait til the price drop", then that's a different story. Personally, I'm not an early adopter but I benefit from those people as they are the one that facilitate next generation price decrease so I'm not going to ridicule anyone who bought the Volt, or the Prius. I do ridicule those that say these will never make it though. Some will, some won't, but the same can be said for petrol models as well.

REALLY ignorant headline, Agents.

Do you honestly believe GM deliberately wanted to price the Volt out of the reach of most buyers??

Where do you think the millions of dollars in development costs for cutting-edge new technology comes from??

The early adopters (of course). The Volt certainly isn't the first new product featuring innovative technology that starts off real expensive and then becomes more affordable as the product evolves.

This is the way it's ALWAYS been. Please stop being so smug and instead acknowledge the realities of introducing new technologies and the costs associated with them.

Technology prices drop over time. Way to go out on a limb.
