This will kill you but according to Consumer Reports this is not a reliability issue.

I like the comment from below the article: "Oooooops another trip to the dealer for Honda Owners.......That Japanese "Superior Quality" needs repaired. I guess Toyota is getting the price for "Superior Quality" since they are the ones breaking the recors for recalls.

usna1999, you are indeed very ignorant and very jealous. I won't go any further than that, but what about Government Motors' own Cadillac division? Have you forgotten about all of their recalls? Cadillac is not the new standard of the world, but The New Recall Standard of the World. Why are more people buying Toyotas than before the recalls? Didn't you see the article that in 2013, more people will switch to Japanese vehicles this year (2013) than last year? What is the reason for that? Toyotas are more reliable vehicles than Government Motors vehicles and you know that! You are indeed very jealous. You know why there are so many Toyota vehicles on the road but will not admit it. Wake up man!

Talking about ignorant, what are you 10? "ignorant and very jealous" LoL!
Before you get your panties in a wad, first I like Hondas, I had a previous Civic and Accord plus I bought an Accord for my mom. Second, I drive a 2009 LS 460. Third, except for the Corvette and the CTS-V, I could care less about American cars. Fourth, why would I be jealous? Because my point hit a nerve. Most cars nowadays have about the same reliability, just look at the numbers. I just like rubbing it in all you Japanese infatuated losers that all cars have issues including your beloved Toyotas and Hondas, Fifth, Why so many Toyotas on the road? Because they are lower priced models for the less affluent U.S. customers built for the mass market. I am wide awake!

With the OEMs relying on the component mfrs (with global capacity) more and more, we're seeing more of these type of recall to service a particular part. Seems like all mfrs (American, European and Asian) are recalling more often. I'm sure there are studies being done but would be interested in seeing statistical evidence of direct relationship between recall and reliability. Regardless, still surprising to see Japanese mfrs recalling isn't it?
