The GMSource has learned that the 2008 Malibu is slated to ride on the same Epsilon I architecture that the vehicle currently rides on. Production is slated to begin in Q2 of 2007 as an '08 MY vehicle. The vehicle carries the new Chevrolet "face" that first debuted on the Chevrolet Aveo which is currently hitting dealers lots as we speak. One may also notice the circle tail lights, which the Chevrolet Cobalt currently sports in coupe mode. We expect the round tail lights to be carried over to the Malibu as well.

Looks like a 4 door coupe to me. Too bad it's still a Chevy, would be a nice looking car if it weren't for that emblem ;)

I agree. The design plays well into the Impala styling cues. However, I don't think the next Malibu will look like the SS concept of a few years back. It would be nice, but not likely.

The new "Chevy face" is a lot similar to the new Saturns/Opels. Being derived from the same Epsilon platform as those cars, I hope there will be more distinction on the front-end styling that what is shown so far. Even the Cadillac BTS shows some deviation.

Just to let you guys know. A coupe is french for cut--i.e.(Cut)low roof line. It really doesn't have to do with the doors. That is just part of the autoworld marketing.
