SPOTTED For The FIRST Time On The Road — Toyota's All-New Avalon Makes Its FIRST Appearance
Though it seems like such a long time ago, it was less than one year ago we set our eyes on the all-new Toyota Avalon. Sporting a much more refined look, it is a dramatic shift away from the annual disappointment of styling the previous Avalon has.

I haven't been following when it was set to hit showrooms but I was surprised to have it pass me by while I was sitting in rush-hour traffic this week.

Coincidentally, it was being followed by a white Audi A8 and while there will inevitably be some joker saying we try to work Audi into every story, that's not the case. The all-new Avalon undeniably takes some creative license from the four rings with its A7-inspired roofline.

We said it back at the 2012 New York Auto Show and we're saying it today.

And if you ask us, it isn't a bad thing. The all-new Avalon has a bit of spunk and a much-needed, more unique exterior styling that was completely missing from those old bars of soap on wheels.

That said, we want to know: What do you think of the all-new Toyota Avalon's look ON THE ROAD?

Nice effort but clearly derivative. Toyota just seems unable to break any new ground, design-wise. Also, I find the new front end design of this car and the new Lexii to be too bottom heavy.

Have been seeing one in black by my neighborhood for a couple of weeks now, down here in NYC. What are you driving 00R, just curious.

I was behind the wheel of a 2013 Lexus LS460 AWD press vehicle.

NOPE! The new Ford Fusion looks better than this.

Hate to say it, but the gaping grille makes it look like a Hyundai.

When is this 'gaping mouth' fad going to end?

It's NOT attractive. (Even on an Audi, where it started).
