THE MANAGEMENT

If you don't know already, we have spying eyes all over the world and tonight the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is finding out first hand that keeping secrets from us is a futile exercise.

Here is the interior in all it's glory or depending on your opinion it's better sameness to the car it is replacing.

We've also got some great closeups of the exterior albeit still slightly camouflaged.

Has Mercedes hit a homerun to you or is it a disappointment?

Spies, is this a STUD or DUD? Discuss!

The exterior looks great but the interior sucks. No wonder they are not trying to hide it.

The interior looks and seem cluttered. Not classy at all. The door panel kinda reminds me of a 1998 Lincoln coupe "The MK VIII." It seems to be trying to hard. I will await my judgement until I see it.

I think the interior looks very nice, from what we can see. Definitely a step in the right direction; not as overly clean as the current interior. And just how adjustable are the rear seats going to be?

Interior is terrible...round vents look awful - different sized circles all over the place, total mess

I beg to differ...interior looks classy and will appeal to the upper crust and shieks at whom this car is directed. MB strategy with the S is to move it further up market to compete with Bentley and generate higher margins. Its not an enthusiasts car but designed for those shopping for watches bobbles in the Robb Report.

Interior looks great. Classy looks a little more up market than the current S-class. The current CL was compared to the bently cont. and won. So, Im sure that new S will be ok. Also you might want to note its not the standard 100k s550 that will compete with bentley, but the pullman edition.

People are obssessed with hating Mercedes on here as well as comparing everything to Hyundai on this site....a lot of bad car commentary in the comments section

In all Mercedes' with Keyless Go, the start/stop fob is removable. So you are seeing the ignition without the fob cover.

That is an absolutely ugly interior. What the hell is Mercedes thinking. I really like the present one much better. The exterior is also not the most aesthetic either. Looks like something Chrysler would do.

Regarding the cost...Mercedes is dropping the CL badge going to the S Coupe likely to start in $115K before options and coming with S class convertible likely in the $135K+ base price. Strategy is to move up market step by step not in one leap.

How old are you? You sure act young... We all know your loyalty lies with Lexus. Toyota/Lexus had the most recalls of ANY MANUFACTURER LAST YEAR. What do you say about that? I thought so

Those vents gotta go. Wow entry level cars likethe the G37, A4, C 300 and ATS have a far better interior.

I will reserve my judgement when I see it in person I am sure it will still be the industry standard, also so funny that someone thinks Lexus is better than Mercedes-Benz S Class, Come on now you're not that stupid are you?

a 2 spoke steering wheel? Last time I saw one of them was in a Saturn. This looks ridiculous.

Another stately and uber classy top tier Mercedes interior accomplishment.

Anyone under 30 years old will not understand or appreciate this quality interior and they can go to the Hyundai or Honda website now. All others can now applaud Mercedes

We saw it, we saw it!! The interior of this car is unbelievably ugly and badly designed. As usual the wood looks fake, especially on the inside of the atrocious steering wheel. I always say luxury is wasted on the rich, because they tend to have such poor taste, and this lash-up is a typical example. The door cards are all over the place; there's no attempt at any real style or serious 'luxury' there and a paucity of nice wood trim, just pathetic slivers in an attempt to be 'modern'. Evidently they are saving the real taste overload for the Pullman versions that will replace the Maybachs. The dashboard is incredibly unbalanced and coarse in design. But Mercedes Benz cars lost the design plot years ago when they first abandoned the badge on the radiator grille, reduced the grille to a pathetic little moué to be 'fashionable' and instituted a horrid un-Germanic 'melted Korean' style. They are now well and truly in the fashion victim category, having totally lost any dignity they once had. What a fall from grace indeed! They should ask Ferdinand Piëch about interiors. Anything from Volkswagen or Audi has this beaten into a cocked hat for real style and elegance
