Jeremy Clarkson Essentially Shouts It From The Roof Tops,
The story really hasn't changed after a couple of years.

It all started with Lexus building a car that everyone said it couldn't. And it did.

Sure, it was behind deadline. Sure, it was scrapped after five years of development to be taken back to the drawing board. Sure, it isn't the fastest supercar ever made.

But with everyone that's actually spent time behind the wheel, the same words seemingly are echoed: "The LFA is the best car I've driven."

So, what happens when the globe's biggest automotive personality says the same thing?

Well, we're going to find out.

The very opinionated, brutal, pro-British Jeremy Clarkson has reported in just about every single one of his outlets now that the Lexus LFA is superb. While he makes note of its flaws, he's come clean and has said numerous times that he loves the LFA.

And now Top Gear magazine is making that crystal clear with a cover that simply reads "Many things are wrong with it, but it's still the best car I've ever driven."

Keep in mind that Top Gear's American special should be airing soon and it will feature Clarkson behind the wheel of the yellow LFA marketing/press car that you've seen everywhere else.

That said, now that Clarkson has weighed in does THIS change ANYTHING at all when it comes to the Lexus LFA and what YOU think?

The LFA doesn’t show any of those traits at all. It’s more like a Terminator. You tell it what to do, and it will keep on doing it. It absolutely will not stop.

Can you ever love a machine? Of course you can. John Connor did. And I love the LFA.

If you read The Sunday Times article or saw the now unavailable Top Gear special, it was very clear that JC was impressed by the LFA — this new review, however, takes it to a whole other level.

"except the priviledged 500 who purchased them all, you moron"

- They finally sold them all? And I would call anyone who spent $375,000 on a Toyota a Moron.

You know what's so funny about the LF-A? The parts that everyone is praising (engine sound, etc..) are parts that Toyota didn't even build themselves and outsourced. Most of it's parts are outsourced. And even then the LF-A gets its ass handed to it by cars that costs less and have a better name. The LF-A is nothing more than Smoke and Mirrors.

Village idiot? OK. Along with you and JapanEngineeringNo1. Anyone who says that an LF-A is way better than a Aventador is delusional.

JapanEngineering and Toyota started manufacturing automatic looms before it started making cars. Stop cutting and pasting crap from the net as your knowledge for automobile history is limited. By the way do you know who Gordon Murray is and please do not go on the net to find out.

Japanengineering. Dont want to get into a pissing contest with you because obviously the person that laoks knowledge and education is you. It seems you attack anybody on this forum that has some criticizm towards any Japanese manufacturer. You should grow up, and yes a Rolls Royce is worth $400k unlike the LFA which looks like a typical Japanese car.

Awwww. Did I hurt the Lexus Fanboy's feelings? Seems so. Please explain to me how an LF-A is way better than an aventador. The LF-A didn't send anyone back to the drawing board. It took so long to develop that it looks like a car from the early 2000's. It gets beat by cars that you say the LF-A is way better than. Delusional bunch you lexus fans.

So you make a statement that you can't back up? Either you back your statements or you shut the F up. Oh yeah... You can't back it up so you try to deflect the argument back to me nice try.

You talk about my deboosting, what about you getting banned from here
like 5 times? LOL!!!

Pondosinatra, Angryinch1 or your new name, Aren't you tired of having your accounts banned here all the time. I'd give it 2 months before you are banned again.

Porsche was mad at Nisson for beating then on the ring, and then Nissan was mad at the Corvette and the Viper for beating them on the ring, and then they were all mad at the LFA Nürburgring version for beating them on the ring, then Lexus was mad at Porsche for topping them all with the new Spyder - - - and it goes on and on not proving in the very least that Japan Engineering in #1.

Again, 3 years and 3 months after Lexus began taking orders for the LFA, 20% of entire allocation to the US is still up for sell, most of them at the original asking price.

"It is not like Ferrari or Lamborghini which are mostly driven by many uneducated people with too much money like Kim Kardashian, Lil Wayne and such. LFA is for the people who actually can appreciate the greatness of it". No wonder you could name anyone that owns one,. Oh! I forgot, Paris Hilton. LoL! I bet she has as much education and etiquette as JapanEngineeringNo1.
BTW The car is awesome but I have never driven one so I cannot give my honest opinion
on it or anything that compares.

Competition creates better products, better value, better service, more jobs and keeps prices lower. Pardon the digression but big government creates more jobs, less competition, less efficiency, poorer service, less value, more debt and higher prices. Sorry but I had to get that off my chest.

I saw one in person recently and it was actually somewhat underwhelming. While the rear end is still an attention grabber (and IMO the best-looking part of the car), the rest is already starting to look dated given the direction Lexus is starting to go.

I expect the GT-R will suffer that fate as well unless it is redesigned soon.

I've always thought it's a cool car, but the ~$400k price tag always made it obviously a collector's car. Nobody who will buy a _single_ exotic car would opt for the LFA when the Aventador or F12Berlinetta was around the corner. At least that's my take on it, because while the LFA may do everything well-enough, and is probably built decently as well, all that 'soul' (Lambo, Ferrari) and 'prestige' (Bentley, Aston Martin) and other intangibles that you really fork that kind of cash over for just doesn't exist and if you don't get your 'fix' for it in other cars (which Clarkson does, of course) then you're probably going to find the LFA lacking.

I can't afford anything like these cars so that's just me thinking out loud.

See I think cars like the LFA,GTR,S2000,Acura NSX, Mazda RX7 and RX8,Subaru BRZ/Scion FRS ETC. show that Japanese car makers do have a soul. Thing is it's an engineering soul.By most accounts the Japanese make good responsible and well put together cars that are decent to drive but hardly exciting to own.Every once in a while they come up with these engineering gems. This usually happens after shrewdly watching what their Euro or American competition has come up with. Then they simply set off to make a better version of the competition. This goes back to to the original 240Z.It became a cut price Porsche 911 but also undercut in price the Alfa GTV, made the Triumph TR6 obsolete. The Miata came out from Mazda in 1989 making the Alfa Spider redundent. When Ferrari replaced the 328 with 348 Honda saw it's flaws and made the NSX.Nissan has had the GTR in it's portfolio for yrs before it came to the USA. It always had a reputation as "Giant Killer".It has forced Porsche to re-engineer the 911 to match and exceed it's performance at the ring. The 991 now approximates the performance of the original GTR when it came out. Of course the GTR has moved up and we await a new Porsche Turbo with 4wheel steering to see if it can further up the game.Had the Lexus came out earlier with the LFA when originally planned it might have been the best out there. Unfortunately it's long gestation period made it still competative but lost it's advantage from all the european model changes. The LFA is unique in that it used the finest materials and technology that Toyota could lavish on it at the time. But is it any different then Porsche's Carrera GT which is now being eclipsed by not only Ferrari's 458 today, Nissan's GTR but even Porsche's own 911 Turbo etc.It will be interesting to see when Toyota makes a successsor to the LFA.

I am an MB fan but if you give me to choose the SLS or LFA...guess what: I'll take home the LFA for everything...But if I just want to be an snob and show the world that I have money, SLS cause is a BADGE. I know SLS is good but does not reach the level of detail of that TOYOTA..Honestly. Ferraris, Porsches, Lamborghinis even Paganis all are beautiful pieces of art...LFA is a Piece of High Tech and the incarnation of the relentless pursuit of the perfection. It have no Soul as the SLS, but is was not designed for that ...SLS serve to one purpose: Apply current technology to the revive an old dream...and works great for that..it have an extraordinary personality...LFA lack of that but it was not designed for that...It is the most perfect piece of tech developed by humans looking with passion for the best of the best.

..Up to this point,it's all a done deal!
The Lexus LFA is now an Icon gone down in history on a Halo Exotic level and along with other Toyota's such as the 2000GT, Supra Turbo, All-Trac Celica, Landcruiser, FJ40 old and new etc and when they're really done, they will have serious Heritage!

ive never been a big fan of the LFA. it never really made sense to me outside of the exclusivity part. unfortunately, im not wealthy enough to buy a car because of mere exclusivity... my problems with the LFA are as follows:
for the same money i can theoretically get a ferrari or a lamborghini. some might call the lambo more boring ever since the raging bull was somewhat tamed buy audi but that just means the car is more everyday livable in my opinion. if you want to tell me the LFA is superior on the track, id like someone to find me a review about how the LFA kicks a ferrari's ass around the track...

my next gripe with the LFA is the transmission. the use of a single clutch transmission seems quite silly, its jerky around town and is slower than the dual clutch on a track so whats the point? so i can feel every jerk in every gear change? if they went ahead and slapped a manual transmission in there i can at least accept the debate of manual vs automatic...

my last real gripe is the styling, although the car isnt what i would call ugly, its definitely not what i call pretty either. i give toyota credit for trying something bold in the styling department. this was a good attempt at spicing up their image. i also this that the brand new IS sedan looks alright. im actually a big fan of the rear end of the car and spindle upfront but im just not sure about the headlights. the LFA is what i would consider overstyled.

im a fairly open minded car enthusiast. if someone has some nice rebuttals for me i would appreciate hearing from you because im always ready to learn something new.

my last comment goes to JapanEngineeringNo1, its great to love a country for what its done and japan has definitely done a lot but i really dont understand one particular statement you made. how exactly is mazda's skyactiv engine one of the greatest engines possible? its actually not very competitive to the rest of the motors in the market... they are merely trying to catch up to everyone else.
