SPIED + VIDEO: The All-New 2014 Range Rover SPORT Is Filmed In Action + Its INTERIOR Exposed!
One vehicle we've been keeping a close eye on is the 2014 Range Rover Sport.

After the debut of the all-new, big daddy 2014 Range Rover and the newer Evoque, we have to say that Range Rover seems to be doing the right thing. And, I'd argue that it is likely the brand's most exciting time in its history.

So far from what we've seen the Sport will feature a mixed design consisting of elements from the big daddy Range and the Evoque.

What's interesting to note from the YouTube clip below is that this is the first mention of six-cylinder motors being used in the Sport. And, from what I hear from the vehicle's hard acceleration, that is likely the new, 340 horsepower six being used in the XJ luxury sedan. Having driven that vehicle, I can confidently say it is a GREAT powertrain.

In addition, a bonus. The spies capturing this find got a snap of the Sport's interior.

The 2014 Range Rover Sport out testing the Mojave Desert. I'm a big Land Rover fan so I'm excited to see how this one turns out. I'm really liking the interior, the fit and finish on current RR are really nice. A few of the prototypes were definitely V6's. It'll be interesting to see if they can bump up the highway MPG to somewhere in the mid to high 20's range.

The V6 mentioned will be supercharged. It will be lighter and more fuel efficient however I am worried it will lose the timeless design my 2011 RRS has, as I think the new RR lost in Gen 4. I'll get over it and learn to like eventually, probably...hopefully.

Are they going to offer the V6 in the states?

We don't know if the six will definitely make it to the states but if I was a betting man I'd say absolutely.

It's a Jaguar powerplant and they have no problem throwing it in the XJs.

I think it has to...it will be here already in the Jag's and they need a more fuel efficient powertrain.

Trouble comes with badging - current it's "RR" and "RR Supercharged" - they certainly can't have the entry level supercharged 6 be a "RR Supercharged" so I expect them to adopt Jag's nomenclature:

Range Rover Sport (V6 Super)
Range Rover Sport R (V8 NA)
Range Rover Sport R-S (V8 Super)
