UAW Tells Membership To Not Expect Raises If They Can't Unionize The Foreign Automakers

United Auto Workers President Bob King told a union gathering Monday that if workers at foreign automakers' plants in the United States don't become unionized, then wages of suppliers and new auto workers won't rise.

King told 1,500 UAW members and retirees at a four-day political convention here that the union must make progress in organizing foreign auto plants. He said the shrinking Detroit-based union is in a "downward slide."

"The honest truth is you never win justice unless you have the power to demand to get that justice," King said. "We will never win full wages and benefits — equal pay — for our sisters and brothers in the second tier, or the entry level in the Big Three, or in the parts supplier sector if we leave over half the auto industry unorganized."

Also UAW tells Members not to worry, You can Drink beer, smoke pot on the job and if the manufacture fires you don't worry they will be forced to re-hire you and you can still be a UAW member.

What a bunch of freaking Turd. When will they hold a meeting to encourage the union workers to be a more productive workers and make better cars?

Every time there is meeting it's about them get a freaking bonus or raise? Nothing about improving their products. Good luck on convincing me to buy their cars. If I win a car that was made by a union workers I will sale that thing and get me more reliable cars. My first 2 cars was American made so I know from my past experience.

Hey UAW how about stop smoking pot, drinking and cheating during lunch break and try to make an honest living instead of this b.s. about you getting a raise for your inferior products?

Well said. If they were really concerned they'd try to focus on stopping all the American car jobs overseas and building better products.
