CHICAGO AUTO SHOW: First Live Shots Of The 2014 Toyota Tundra INTERIOR - Is It Everything You Hoped For?
If you haven't been in a top of the line work truck lately you are in for a shock. The modern day work truck has more things in common with a luxury car than the rubber matted work truck of a few decades ago. They call them "Cowboy Cadillacs" for a reason. They do the work and haul you around in comfort.
Now GM closed off the interiors of new GMC and Chevrolet full sized trucks last month so they could still work on the pre-production fit and finish. This kept the would be critics out of the cabin before everything was just right. Toyota under the same time line opted to let everyone wander through the spacious cabins. Was this the right choice?
Are the materials and appointments in the new Tundra up to snuff? Does it look as good as the GM variants? Are they giving Ford valuable insight for their new F Series Trucks?
Take a look and let us know.

I see that they finally got the bottom tip of the gas pedal raised well above the carpet like the rest of the truck manufacturers have theirs .Unlike the current models , where it was very close to the carpet to let stray objects interfere with the gas pedal action .

Looks rather cheap with a sea of plastic wanting to be aluminum haphazardly strewn about.

I do think the interior looks really nice. BUT, Ford should be flattered as hell as the F-150 resemblance/copy.

There's a reason the the Ram 1500 got the Truck Of the Year Award and they have nothing to worry about with this new Tundra. In fact it's as boring, "plasticky" and cheap looking where Ram was a few years ago. My how the tides have changed and reversed themselves.....and now Ram is on top:-)
