In the UK, prices are expected to start at £40,000 – smack in the middle of Porsche Cayman territory. Read on for the more details to see if the Alfa upstart can challenge the mighty Porsche.

Why would you even consider building car to go after the volumes of Lotus or Tesla? If you are going to build new car and make money, you need to go after the right market. Let's hope it is turns out better than the Alfa Romeo 8C - - - the big sister to this car. Clarkson called it a work of art but one of the worst sports cars he had driven - - - and all of this from a car with a $240K+ price tag.

For that price, It's all about BOTH numbers and style. I don't think it will perform better than the Cayman S, but it better be at least 75% of the Porsche. Other competitors are the BMW Z4 and new Jag F-Type (yes, I know they're both convertibles, but this target market will cross shop for style).
