STUD OR DUD? Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG Images Surface On The Web
Photos of the new Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG surfaced on the internet today providing us with our first camouflage-free look at the German brand's high-performance hatch, designed to challenge the 315hp (320PS) BMW M135i and 335hp (340PS) Audi RS3.
We don't have the official release in our hands yet, but Mercedes-Benz confirmed the A45 AMG's basic specifications last November.
The hottest addition to the A-Class family of hatchbacks makes do with a heavily revised version of the brand's 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four petrol rated at 350-horsepower and 332 lb-ft (450Nm) of peak torque.

Looks good but the RS3 should be dynamically more capable.

Oh german idiot, you know the audi is going to be more capable than the Benz based on the fact that you drove both the RS3 and A45 right? Or let me guess this is more BS that you post as an audi fan boy. Fact is im pretty sure that Audi is very worried about the fact that mercedes is now using 4wheel drive. Moreover now that mercedes is building cheaper cars on a large scale, it will be very interesting to see how this translates to sales. Here in America the rings still don't equal a 3 pointed star.

Merc07, I know the Audi S3 will be more dynamically capable than the A45AMG because AMG is known for making cars with useless amounts of power. Even though the AWD will help the A45 AMG gain traction and improve acceleration times, it will also add weight. The S3 will be the better car dynamically and the most complete package when compared to the A45 AMG.

Japan really? How old are you? I am not sure if you have noticed but the Big 3 German Luxury car makers are breaking sales records here in the USA. Something wrong with this picture?
Your comments just don't make sense, if quality and reliability would be so poor for these German goods, the consumer wouldn't be paying a "premium" price for them. Simple "supply and demand" from ECON 101.
Are you telling me that all these consumers buying MB, BMWs and AUDIs in the USA are incompetent? I think you are just full of rage, envy and hatred because your opinions are not being shared by all these people willing to pay more for what you (and it seems only you) consider junk.
By the way, the people buying cars are this level don't really care about depreciation, I have never bought a car thinking how much it will be worth 5 years from now. Maybe you care since you bought a Mazda.

Wow, I guess I hit a nerve. Philosophy and Politics? What a joke, try ME from the Naval Academy (alas USNA) and MBA is Acquisition, Procurement from NPS in Monterey, CA and Joint Professional Military Education from the Naval War College, Newport RI. Guess what I used to fly?
Yes brother, I have lived all around this country and around the world. I don't think outside the box? Just ask all the Head Hunters offering big money to jump ship. I am not some loser like you hiding behind a keyboard, hoping to afford an LS someday. You are welcome to come and see for yourself here in Jacksonville, FL. This is why people like me DON'T think like losers like you;)

Japan,
I am with you, I think this is a mistake for their brand image but it seems that there is a market for it since they continue to sell out anything that has AMG on it. While consumers are willing to pay for them, the company will continue to produce.

Many of us are guilty of the same thing. I cannot stand sharing the LEXUS name with an ES or IS. I see those cars as rebadged Toyotas for those aspiring to own a luxury name car. My neighbour claims a BOXTER/CAYMAN is not a real Porsche, he has a 911.

I love it. I would never buy it as hatches aren't my thing, but I think this will be a big hit in Europe. I don't think it has any relevance in the States.

Nice job MB and keep up the good work. Man I wish they put that engine in the new Infiniti G37/Q50/Q60 as well since they're partner now. This new MB A45 AMG will put BMW and Audi on notice for sure.

This thing looks pretty good. I hate the CLA styling but this one's works... I would love to get behind the wheel and see how this thing drives in comparison to a WRX or BMW... MINI needs AWD and a monster motor to compete with this, I hope they do!
