The new Toyota Corolla!

The new Toyota Corolla!
These pictures are from a Japanese magazine; this is what the new Corolla is supposed to look like. There are many photos of this car on the internet, so this is probably what it will look like. I personally hate the new design, the interior is nice though! If this is all that Toyota can offer to compete against the feisty overrated Honda Civic, than this is pathetic! The design is weak. If Toyota wants to raise the bar and become the number one brand of all time, they better not release this ugly car!

Okay guys, I'm pretty freaked out right now.

It seems I've inadvertinly been cast into 1995.

I never knew Autospies existed back then? Anyway, they've just shown leaked pictures of the new Corolla, and everyone is saying how bland, derivative and dated it looks.

Imagine the response if it came out in 2006!

Anyway, wish me luck as I try and figure out how to get back to the present day, because computers are really slow here.

It looks like a Scion to me.

The interior is ok. The actual car is weak, ugly. But Toyota said that they are spending an extra year to fine tune the styling. However, it won't end up awesome probably, the Camry is ok. I also agree, the Civic is definately overrated/overhyped in looks IMO.

Looks better than the current version. Still not exciting but that's ok. Corolla buyers want a simple car that gets them from A to B. Perfectly understandable.

Anyway, I think it looks good.

your mistaken if your talking about the toyota corolla 2007, the 2007 version is posted up on their site already and it looks nothing like that. that looks more like a neon

Welcome to yet another terribly boring design from Toyota. Women will love to drive it and men will laugh at you if you drive it.

I guess it kinda looks like a baby Camry. It's OK. The interior is a big improvement, but the exterior is a snoozer - not that the current one isn't. I guess they're keeping this one ultra conservative in order to help the Scion brand appear more youthful.

dull as it always is with the corolla.

Guys! Look at the first picture. Now look at the emblem on the grille. This is a new Daihtsu sedan, not the new Corolla. From my own knowledge Daihtsu has never made a Corolla spinoff. However if the interior of the new Corolla is to be anywhere that nice, then the folks at Honda might have a little to worry about.

00J! - This is not a Daihatsu, To make the car more "sporty" the designers decided to put a C on the grille, and this is for the Japanese model ONLY!

00JT - If you don't realize in the magazine pictures it has the same front emblem... but a Toyota emblem at the rear!

JCF110 - I don't understand why they would replace the Toyota emblem with a "C" to make it sportier. The Corolla sport model has always been "S" with one "S" badge on the rear.

jfgz - I noticed that too, which is a bit awkward. My guess is that if this is a Corolla, it is the Japanese version. US ones will look different. Hopefully they won't change the interior too much.

My other theory is that this is the Corolla that Toyota sent back to the drawing board. Hopefully they make some styling tweaks before its official debut.

I saw this picture atleast 4 months ago (only the exterior though). Back then I heard Toyota was going to change the Corolla in response to the Civic, so I am not sure whether this will be the final version because they are going to be late in making the debut. If this is the new Corolla, yaaaaaaaawwwwwwwn, then Toyota really needs to do something about the vintage styling. I mean the Civic moved away from its conservative looks and so should the Corolla to keep up with the trend in the market. This is Too Conservative Toyota, even more than the Camry.

kart1, I agree. Except I hope they don't make the styling too radical. The Civic may not look boring, but I think its pretty ugly. Maybe I just haven't warmed up to them yet.
