F1 Loses Another Driver to of All Series....NASCAR!

Jacques Villeneuve will no longer hang his helmet inside team BMW-Sauber’s transporter.

The Canadian driver announced Monday that he has mutually agreed to end his relationship with the Formula One team immediately. The move comes after BMW-Sauber apparently could not assure Villeneuve that he’d have a ride before season’s end.

Jacques took the green flag for BMW on July 30 at the German Grand Prix… an outing that ended in an accident.

Villeneuve’s last race for BMW was July 30, when he crashed at the German Grand Prix in Hockenheim, although he did not appear to be hurt. For the remainder of the season, Robert Kubica will race in his stead.

In a message released on his website, Villeneuve announced that he will now have “… more time to concentrate on future projects” and that he plans on considering other racing series, including NASCAR. The Nextel Cup seems to be an increasingly popular refuge for international open wheel stars, what with Juan Pablo Montoya and Alex Tagliani already headed for the series.

NASCRAP, (isn't that is how it is spelled) the place where all the F1 rejects go. I hope JPM and JV do well in NASCAR.

Funny. If they didn't like their BMWs and rejected the car, then sure. A car can't reject its owner, maybe BMW do, but I wouldn't want to drive a car like that, it doesn't seem very safe.

All a case of going to the money. The strange thing is it might actually help NASCAR quite a bit in the eyes of the world.

IS3andME- Don't under estimate the good ol boys. Many are very talented and could compete successfully in most any series. But I do wonder how the pits will change.. Hmmm "Gunter can you pass me the Pate' and a bit more Brie?" vs Beer and Slim Jims.
