Obama To Demand That Japan Play Fair In Home Market
President Obama will continue to demand Japan to open auto market for the US automakers, as he meets Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe today.

Among the conditions for Japan’s potential entry into the Trans-Pacific Partnership, would be opening the automarket for car makers such as GM, Ford and Chrysler.

The partnership “is intended to be a comprehensive, ambitious, high-standard, 21st-century trade agreement,” said Mike Froman, Obama’s deputy national security adviser for international economic affairs. “And anybody who joins TPP would be expected to sign on to that goal.”

Nobody around the world fears this President...they will bow, say yes and do as they damn well please. I would have some respect for this guy if he demanded the marines go in to save our brave people in Libya...at least try, make an effort instead of going to sleep with a do not disturb sign on his door.

Well the problem is the Japan already thinks they are fair. The bigger problem is that Japanese market is open (Ask VW). The real issue is that we don't make cars that appeal to the Japanese.

I have never seen a Japanese person drive an American car. Is it because they love their country. I think it is patriotism. My Japanese neighbour has a Lexus and a Nissan. China is boycotting many Japanese cars because of a land dispute. The Japanese were smart registering as American Honda etc but where do the profits go. No wonder we are in a long recession and idiots here are saying I will not buy a car from a company that took bail out money. You think Japan,China and Korea do not help their Auto industries? Give me a break.

He should be talking to China, not Japan about opening their market to American Products. A $40K U.S. made car...has about an additional $42K to $45K in import tariffs.

THAT will NEVER HAPPEN...

Is it any wonder why GM is building plants in China...This will continue for another 20-30 years until China has a Middle Class of about 750,000,000. In the mean time, the American Economy will be driven DOWN to a point where the American People (which by that time, will consist of immigrants from Latin America,primarily...because we arn't having enough kids to "replace" ourselves)will be willing to work for "next to nothing" THEN America will start selling CHEAP stuff to their Wal-Marts.

Simple Demographics, plus,in the eyes of the "Powers that Be".....America is EXPENDABLE.
