I actually like it, the front end is questionable, but all in all I think it looks pretty good.

The front is not too bad. I cringe, though, at the thought that from behind, it will look like a Ford Taurus.

The grill is totally messed up. It looks interesting, but a little akward.

That is a beautiful automobile. I think Ian Callum designed that car.

Can it save the failing car company? It's a beautiful brand. If it is a 4 door Vantage/Vanguish I think we have a winner.

It's brand new and all but it is not following traditional Jaguar. If someone who doesn't know it's the new Jag might mistaken it for perhaps a Ford or something. The only thing that still remains from the current model is the grill.

However, overall it doesn't look that bad. Eitherway it is time for a change.

It looks like a Pontiac Grand Prix with a bad on it.

Its not great looking but its not bad either. Looks like Buick's flagship vehicle (Lucerne?).

Give Jaguar credit for making significant changes instead of making a minor facelift. I disliked the old S-Type

Overall profile has a nice shape, however I do hope Jaguar chooses a different grille.

Just a thought, if Jaguar wanted to make some quick cash they should jump on the SUV bandwagon. There is a larger profit margin is SUV's. While overall, demand for large SUV's are down, premium/luxury SUV's have managed to keep a good sales pace. If they did make an SUV lets hope it's not a rebadged Ford. They could use the same chassis to cut costs, but please make it an original SUV. Perhaps a Land Rover chassis. From the LR3, afterall the Supercharge Range Rover engines are sourced from Jaguar anyways. Why not offer that engine in a Jaguar SUV?

Strangely, I feel this to be a fairly accurate portrayal of how the car will look. Don't take the grille seriously though, the artist probably added it before his lunch break.

I agree - kinda funky looking grill - but you can definately see the XK8 front underneath the chop...what did they use for the rest of the car?

Horrible. No elegance like past and current Jaguars used to have. :(

It really doesn't matter...

Nobody takes Jag seriously anyway. The only people who will buy it are the loyalists who don't bother to look at the competition. It's impossible to imagine that someone with an objective mind actually thinks it's a better car than all of the other lux brands.

Here's Jaguar's dilemma:

Everyone likes Jaguars for their classic shape. Everyone hates the idea of no longer seeing such elegant looking cars on the roads.

BUT. . .

No one buys the car! We're all relying on someone else buying a Jaguar and keeping the marque alive. In the meantime we're all buying Bimmers, Mercs & Audis.

Jaguar is locked in a design dilemma. No other marque, not even Rolls Royce, carries as much weight of expectation to maintain that 'classic look'. Imagine the outcry if Jaguar took the XJ too far away from its classic shape. And yet the people who want Jaguar to keep on being Jaguar don't buy Jaguars.

It would look alright if they worked on that grille...it definitely needs to be wider.

On August 3rd I spent some time with the new S Type at a focus group in Marin County (No Cal)... This is not the car.

Jaguar had three current cars (key competitors) on display for comparison. The exterior of the new Jag is really spectacular. The interior was awful... Very Lincoln-ish and not at all appealing, especially for the Euroesque.
