Infiniti's New QX60 To Debut At New York Auto Show

Infiniti's New QX60 To Debut At New York Auto Show
Nissan's premium division renames the JX35 and gives it a new hybrid powertrain in time for the New York Auto Show.

It’s getting harder and harder to justify driving a large crossover or SUV without hybrid propulsion to make it (at least seem) a little greener. So at the upcoming New York Auto Show, Infiniti will present a hybrid version of its big QX60. Now if you’re scratching your head thinking which the QX60 is in Infiniti’s newly-renamed model line, you may recognize it better as the JX35, a seven-seat crossover which Nissan’s luxury brand unveiled in August 2011 at Pebble Beach.

:barf: that car looks like someone took an image of a normal car, then went to town with the "smudge" tool in a photo editing app. Every line just has to be pulled this way or that way. It looks like ass now (in my opinion) and will look SO dated when it is replaced.

Naming scheme, honestly who cares. What, someone was married to the "JX35" designation? They're all the same -- unrelatable, forgettable, and pretentious. Cars with names are remembered long after their run ends because names build prestige and recognition; the rest disappear from the collective conscious as soon as they disappear from product lineups. If Ford rebadged the Mustang as the "Ford MX88" or something insane like that it would die a miserable death sooner rather than later and when it did, nobody would even remember it. But they'd still remember the Mustang. So, JX35, QX60, BJ69, whatever. I'll never be caught dead in something that looks like that.
