Demand for new Honda NSX strong
Although the NSX supercar didn’t show its production form, Honda says that the demand for its upcoming vehicle is very strong. For example, in the UK, Honda received 25 5000 deposit cheques, according to Autocar. Set to make its debut in 2015, the Honda NSX will be built in the United States

Will the performance and price match the GTRs or is this going to be ridiculously priced like the LFA with not much better performance?

I think it'll be somewhere between the GTR and LFA price and performance-wise. It'll likely offer more luxury than the Nissan, while being more practical as a daily-driver than the Lexus.

I highly doubt the price will be much more than the GT-R. It certainly won't even approach the LF-A's price. Performance? We'll see. It needs to be competitive in the segment, without question. The 0-60 time cannot be much more than 3 seconds, if that, to come out of the gates strong.

Here's what's hopeful for Acura. The previously scrapped "new" NSX, was a front-engined GT-type coupe (the one that was actually seen track testing), mimicking the styling themes of the current TL and TSX. Subjectively, the TL and TSX aren't as nicely styled as their predecessors or their direct competition.

Hopefully, by scrapping that previous NSX prototype/concept, Acura has also scrapped that previous design theme. It appears so with the ILX, as it's a more attractive design and even the beak works. I think the RLX was already in development and Acura knew it could not hold off another couple of years to do a re-work so it moved forward with its introduction.

Additionaly, the new Urban SUV and the Civic Tourer indicate a new, more dynamic edge to Honda's styling themes, more inline with the new NSX.

If they price it right and have two different version like the Audi R8 with then it should a big home run for them for sure. And off course this car better has the number and handling to back it off as well.

Honda need to offer a base model with around 420-450 hp to compete against the Audi R8 V8/Porsche 911 Turbo, BMW M3, Audi RS5, Lexus IS-F and MB C63 AMG.

And a top end model with 550+ hp to compete with Audi R8 V10, Lambo Gallardo, Ferrari 458 Italia, Nissan GT-R, Porsche Turbo S and the Lexus LF-A.

If the Base model has around 420-450 HP in your theory, 911 turbo will be out of it's league, Maybe a 4S?

@dayday,

but you forget that the 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo does 0-60 in 3.4s (couldn't find the 2013 spec.) And I'm pretty sure the next generation Porsche 911 Turbo will have more power and will be faster as well.

Just build it. How many years have we read about the NSX? Good horsepower/light weight/handling should suffice versus a 0-60 pissing contest.

The ACTUAL NSX replacement has only been talked about for a few months since it was previously axed.

Acura NSX 2005 production ends. 1/2012 NSX concept released. The "actual NSX" replacement was axed a few months ago? Seem to recall discussions about the cars "beak" front grille last year.
