NEW YORK AUTO SHOW: Range Rover Sport Caught Before Big Apple Debut
Pictures of the new Range Rover Sport have surfaced online ahead of its reveal at the New York motor show. The car will be officially unveiled on 26 March when it is driven through Manhattan the day before the show opens.

The company had previously released a official teaser shot of the new car and says that the location of the Sport’s debut is entirely appropriate, because New York city is the model’s single biggest metropolitan market and the Sport is also currently Land Rover’s best-selling model in North America.

Looks nice. The headlight/taillight treatment works much better here than on the RR.

That's a smartEuro right there ;)

On a real note... It looks much better than the range rover. Like to get a peek at the interior pretty soon.

"The car also borrows heavily from the Range Rover Evoque."

No! How can one really tell? ;)

"Land Rover's new Sport will also be offered with a hybrid drivetrain."

That's good, that's good... How about a plugin-hybrid?

Article also mentions 2 diesel versions. Being that it's a UK article, not sure what options will be offered in the US.

I definitely do not like this design.

It looks wrong from all angles, then again, i guess they are targeting a different type of buyer, in the Evoque it was ok because over 90% of its drivers were women or "Alternative Lifestyle" guys.

The Sport is currently driven by a lot of guys who like it's stance and angles, not sure how they would receive this new one, i know i definitely would not choose this over an X5 or Cayenne {And i know the X5 is on its way out}.

I'd choose this over an x5 or a cayenne solely based on the 4wd system. If I lived in a climate that didn't get snow, I would agree with your x5 or cayenne taste but there is no comparison if you intend on using a 4wd SUV as it's intended. It's either this, the land cruiser, or one of the big US SUV's if you want a capable 4wd. Oh and of course the grand cherokee which is looking better and better with the upcoming diesel. Interested to see what JLR engine/trans options they stick into this model.

Luckily i live in the UK where we get maybe 1-2inches of snow in the worst winters so any AWD system will do.
