Audi To Bring TDI A4 To US In 2014
US consumers will have the option of a TDI engine in Audi AG's next-generation A4 sedan, the automaker said today, expanding a campaign to sell more diesel engines in the United States.

A new version of the A4, Audi's longtime U.S. best-seller, is set to arrive in 2014. Audi skipped the current sedan in November when it announced plans to offer four more TDI models in the United States.

Speaking to reporters today, Audi of America President Scott Keogh said U.S. dealerships will be able to get the A4 with a 2-liter TDI engine after the new generation arrives. As with a recent U.S. diesel push by Audi's sibling brand, Volkswagen, the decision reflects a strategy to meet rising corporate average fuel economy standards without sacrificing torque.

If the new one is due in 2014, when will Audi unveil it? And where are the spy shots? I guess it will be a 2015 announced during next years show circuit.

Sweet. Been waiting a while for some good diesel options. This just might be it.

According to autoblog, A6, 7, 8 and the q5 will be offered in diesel as well.

Yeah, but they are all the V6. The A4 will get the 2.0 4. Personally, I think that's all the Q5 needs as well.

Unless VW gets the Tiguan TDI in the US fairly soon, I may get a Q5. Of course, if VW keeps removing the options I want, I may go to Audi anyway.

that's a shame to hear. I've been in the market for an AWD diesel sedan for a while now. Would think the 2.0 would be fine for an A6... Oh well..
