I would buy that in a heartbeat. Don't even need to hybrid stuff. Just put a small diesel in it and it's perfect.

Agreed. Let this be the explorer fighter and put the 2 speed t-case and adjustable trans back in the touareg.

The concept's interior looks amazing, better than anything else that would be its direct competition. However, that exterior appears an identical profile to a Jeep GC.

I'd love to have that to compliment my new Passat TDI. Give it real offroad ability and a good diesel and 30+mpg and ill be in line.

seeing how they stripped the Touareg of it's offroad gear, doubtful they'd add it to a larger model just from a MPG standpoint. We used to have a Touareg (08 model) and it could go almost anywhere. Really miss that car. Especially in the winters.

I shall disagree with most of you and argue that there are enough large barge SUVs on the market. VW should do what it does best and focus smaller higher performance vehicles, such as a TDI Tiguan and perhaps a Polo crossover. In other words give us some of the goodies the Europeans are enjoying rather than giving us the same old stuff we continually see repackaged by yet another brand.
