Fisker Running Out Of Time And Options - Should The Fed Bail Them Out Too?
In case you haven’t been paying attention, Fisker is in serious trouble. The automaker responsible for the Karma luxury hybrid has been plagued by electrical fires, a crop of its cars destroyed in Hurricane Sandy, its battery supplier shutting down and its namesake founder leaving the company. As a result, Fisker Automotive has been looking for a new buyer to which to sell itself, and like its battery supplier A123, that’s principally come down to Chinese investors.

No. They barely provide jobs in the U.S. since they build them abroad. Plus isn't it a bit hypocritical for Feds to subsidise cars for the one percentors? Oh wait, Obama already did.

Absolutely Not!

They have already taken subsidies. Think about it for a minute.

We have spent billions creating an EV infrastructure. Now that it failing (a123, Fisker, Coda) we are selling it all off at a loss to the Chinese. When do you take a stand as a nation and say this technology is critical for national growth?

Bail outs are so incredibly controversial. I feel like if a business cannot make it on their own, they ought to go under, plain and simply. I am pretty tired of this Too Big To Fail BS and feel it compares to a parent and child relationship where if parents will always bail out the child's bad decisions, they will never (rarely if ever) make responsible ones since they have a enabler so to speak. Say GM didn't get bailed out, the consequences may have been dire but restructuring and smarter choices would likely result if they made a come back on their own.

No money for you!

If anyone should buy them, and they don't have the money, it should be Honda. This is especially true since it is speculated that Honda will be returning to F1 with McLaren.

GM should try to steal some of their engineers to better the Volt.

Strangely, I could see Apple buying them on the cheap.
