SPIED: Ahead Of The NEW YORK AUTO SHOW, A Cadillac Is Spotted. Is It The All-New CTS? What Say YOU?
A spy photographer recently submitted a photo to mobile@autospies.com and we have to admit, it's an interesting one. That's because of the timing.

With the 2013 New York Auto Show happening next week, everyone is starting to percolate about the 2014 Cadillac CTS launch. Very few spy shots of the vehicle have emerged. The user who submitted this pic is claiming this is a spy shot of the 2014 CTS but the more I look at it, the more I beg to differ.

Looking at its wheels and rear bootlid, to me it's clearly an ATS.

Those wheels can be had on the ATS currently for sale, the rear bootlid has the EXACT same lines, the exhaust is more centrally located and even its proportions don't look like ANY different from the ATS that's currently on the market. While we expect the CTS to bear some resemblance to the ATS and XTS, we doubt it will be an ATS clone.

Now that brings me to my next point: if it is an ATS, what the hell is it all camouflaged up for?

Is it an electric prototype?

Could it be a diesel variant?

What exactly up Cadillac's sleeve here?

ATS-V

The camouflage is placed around the side-skirts and rear lower bumper. The rear wheel wells also look wider.

I don't believe it's a ATS-V. If you look at the ad of the ATS conveniently
located in this article, you can see the ATS has wide wheel wells already and there are no ground effects. I believe it may be a diesel variant to market the car better in Europe since their fuel costs are so much higher than the U.S., that this car would never be a consideration against the German brands that offer diesel overseas.

It's definitely an ATS. Agree with the posters above. Either an ATS-V or a Euro spec model. Can't base it off wheels everytime as those almost always change when it hits production anyway. Especially for a diesel or performance version.
