SPIED: NEW Photos Of Maserati's 5-Series/E-Class Fighting Italian Stallion Hit The 'Net

The biggest news to hit the mid-size luxury sedan class has been the development of an all-new entrant to the market. That, my friends, would be the Italian Maserati Ghibli.

If there's one thing that's been lacking in the mid-size class it's personality and we're sure that the Ghibli will make up for that in spades. THINK: what are the BEST and hottest selling luxury mid-sizers? The Audi A6, BMW 5-Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Lexus GS.

Plus, you have to admit there's a certain cachet that comes with owning a Maserati over one of the Germans or a Lexus.

All of that said, NEW spy shots of the upcoming Ghibli were snapped recently and we wanted to share them with you so you can let us know your thoughts. While it's obviously covered up quite a bit with camouflage, the vehicle's roofline and greenhouse are clearly seen. In addition, you can see the shape of the headlights starting to emerge as the indicator light gets caught in action.

Interesting, in an effort to save weight, it would appear they have replaced all sheet metal with a tarp like covering.

Maserati needs to hire true designers. These cars do not distinguish themselves from lower-tier cars. The only Maserati that might is the Quattroporte GT but even the rear of that car is uninspired. This Ghibli almost has the profile of the new Kia Cadenza.
