NEW YORK AUTO SHOW: Did Chevrolet Miss The Boat When Refreshing The Z28 Rear End?
Whoosh! What was that? All you can see now is the tail lights of some rocket that just passed you at over 100 mph. If it is a current Corvette or a GT-R the distinctive tail lights give you an instant clue as to the lineage of the beast.
The same used to be said of the Chevrolet Camaro until now.
Take a look at the rear lights on the new Z28 to see what I mean. Gone are the distinctive quad tail lamps, substituted with a blander corporate set. Somehow they just don't fit in with the rest of the design. Almost old school Acura comes to mind. Come to think of it the whole rear end is a jumbled mess of different colors and broken lines.
Even the front end is even beginning to look almost Mustang-ish.
Did the designers at Chevrolet miss the boat when updating this time around? Could a grade-schooler have done a better job?

Front end looks nice. Rear end looks abysmal. Boring, dated, non-sporty. I don't know how that ever got off the computer screen and onto a real car.

probably to make it different from the vette. A lot of people were commenting on how similar the tails looked. Now they don't. As for the overall look... I think it's okay. Definitely leaves room for improvement.

It looks like the last gen. Prelude. It is better for GM to error on the conservative side -- this car is already outlandish.

It just looks so 1991 from the rear. One would think Chevy could do better; even the Malibu's tail lights are better looking than this :-/ It's just a shame. Mustangs have pretty interesting rear lights and this is so bland.

It's not just the Z28, it's the entire 2014 Camaro lineup. And it's terrible.

the only reason i think they decided to change the rear was because the new corvette has a rear like the camaro.. this was a must do change. too bad they didnt make the rear look better.

Looks like Chevy accurately ripped off the ass end of the 1990 Acura Integra.
They cracker jack Chevy designers should call it the Integra Camaro.
Chevy is clueless.
