Lexus Trademarks "GS-F"- What Should This Mighty M5 Fighter Be Equipped With?

Lexus Trademarks
Rumors of a Lexus sports car carrying the GS F banner have been circulating since 2010 or so, at times producing details like “it will come to market with a supercharged V-8,” or “it’s getting an all-new V-8.”

While no GS F has yet materialized, the 2011 debut of the Lexus GS 350 F Sport at least showed the luxury automaker’s intent to build a sporty sedan larger than its IS F, which may be discontinued following the 2013 model year.

Parts bin car would do the trick if they used the right parts:

V10 from the defunct LF-A.
8 speed trannie
Brakes and suspension from the soon to be defunct IS-F

Modified trim from the GS F Sport?

it'll be years before this car materializes. been talking about it since 2010 and still nothing. plus they didn't even put a V8 in the regular GS. why would they bother with this niche model?

discontinuing V8's? Funny. I see 8 cylinder BMW 550i's, MB "E" and "S" Class V8's all the time. Lexus dropped the ball by equipping such a large premium car without a V8.

cleveland: there's exactly ZERO change of the germans discontinuing any of their iconic V8 engines. they sell lots of volume at huge profit margins. you are deeply mistaken.

Don't assume this will be a M5 fighter; like the Audi S4 is really a 335 competitor.

If a M5/E63/RS6 competitor:

Lower weight
More HP = Most likely with an electric motor boost
Better feel: brakes, steering, chassis
More Grip
Better Styling

If a 550, E550 competitor:

HP increase with a performance booster(electric hybrid probably)
Better tuning: chassis, brakes, steering
AWD
Bigger better: brakes, wheel/tires
Lowered suspension

It's just a matter of time before Lexus drops the bomb. Which ever way you look at it, something inevitable is brewing around the corner! A great day is coming for the Toyota and Lexus connoisseurs so to speak.

gotta agree with 009 on the LFA engine- if not that then a detuned version of it and more importantly the exhaust note of the LFA

Trust me, your not going to see that serioulsy exclusive V10 engine from the once in a life time LFA put in the GS-F, just cant see that happening my friends. Although that would be crazy. I think that engine probably cost about 100K...So, there you have. And now you can see why It aint gonna happen!

Exactly.
They are like kids, no common sense.

Every Manufacturer is going smaller, with FI for more torque and better mileage an they are saying Lexus should put a Low Torque Super High Revving {9,500rpm limiter} in a 4 Door Midsize Sedan.

They would only do that if they intend to sell it in the Middle East and nowhere else.

Muppets.

M5 Competitor? Enough already. Has Lexus ever created an M5 Competitor? Fanboys can dream I guess.

@LexSucks - sure, because they've never done it meant they'll never accomplish it or should even bother trying. I am sure everyone has gotten ahead in life with that mentality...
