Ford Being Sued For Producing Vehicles Without Brake Override Systems
Ford Motor Co was sued on Thursday by 20 consumers seeking compensation from the second-largest U.S. automaker for selling vehicles over nearly a decade that they said were vulnerable to unintended acceleration.

The lawsuit filed in a West Virginia federal court alleged that more than 30 models equipped with electronic throttle control system did not have in place reliable safety systems, such as a brake override system.

The Ford, Lincoln and Mercury cars and trucks covered in the lawsuit were built from 2002 to 2010.

Actually VW/Audi's have had it for so long..I was at first shocked with the Toyota SUA cases. I was like how did that happen with smart throttle technology? The concept is so simple to implement.

Audi probably responded with it after the Audi 5000 debacle nearly torpedoed the brand in the 80's.

God I hate that brake override bullshit. Dealt with those shenanigans on a 4-runner, glad it's not on my xterra. If you can't deal with "unintended acceleration" (lol), turn in your driver's license because I don't trust a "brake override" system to protect me from your incompetent ass.
