95 Vehicle Pile Up Kills Three On I-77
While many folks were traveling for today's Easter holiday, unfortunately some drivers perished in an unfortunate accident on Virginia's Interstate 77 highway.

According to reports, the 95 vehicle pile up involved autos of all sorts and was due to heavy fog banks that were ignored by drivers. People on the scene said vehicles had ignored the various warnings and sped through. The problem is that the fog is so sudden and so thick in this area of Virginia you lose sight quickly and soon thereafter you find yourself in another vehicle.

Our thoughts are with all of the parties involved, particularly the victims and their families.

Be safe out there, Spies!

"Overhead message boards warned drivers since about 6 a.m. Sunday to slow down because of the severe fog, Geller said. The crashes were mostly caused by drivers going too fast for conditions."

We can say what we want about drivers being idiots, but fog banks are just dangerous. In the dark, especially, they can sneak up on you and once you're in it, as ClevelandSteamer's point suggests, you worry about slowing down abruptly lest you get rear ended. I'm not sure how well laser tail lights work in the fog, but if my rock concert experience is anything to go by, it's better than other forms of lighting and thus, can't come soon enough.
