$184,000 Armoured Ford Guards Small Tennessee Town.
A grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has provided the Memphis suburb of Germantown,TN (a quiet, wealthy, safe town) with a SWAT-like armoured vehicle that puts the town at "(the)forefront of preparedness".

Why would a sleepy town like Germantown ever need one of these? Who knows. It would be better suited in a larger city like nearby Little Rock,AR, or Atlanta,GA

As for the vehicle, it looks to be a heavily modified Ford F-Series.

Sounds like it will be used for small towns for 'test purposes'. Any other explanation would call it a waste or something there that we do not know about.

Another thought...it looks like a converted E250/350 and those front tires look very exposed. Sure hope they are run flats!

It really looks like the Studebaker XUV from the Avanti website, which is based on the Ford heavy duty F-platform as well. HAHAHA.

Imagine if that thing pulled you over for speeding....I'd need a new pair of pants!

Carboy:

Correct, but is might as well be a F-250,F-350,or F-450.
