Is Packing The RLX Full Of Tech Enough To Overcome A Dated Design?
Acuras new queen mother sedan, the RLX, is full of surprises. Take the cruise control. It’s one of the most complete cruise systems this side of Google’s self-driving cars. It’ll maintain its distance from cars ahead of you, brake down to zero, and re-accelerate from a stop with a tap of the accelerator. That’s relatively old-hat, though, in high-flying realm of luxury sedans—the RLX’s true twist is its smooth lane-centering tech.

Dude relax. If you don't like what they have to post here than WHY ARE YOU HERE? I felt the same way about autoblog, then, I stopped visiting autoblog, and my life got dramatically better. Do it, just leave, it would make all of us much happier.

I don't like the looks of the car.... but honestly, you can get in one of the these, almost fully loaded, for the same price as a fully loaded 3 series. Thats a hard deal to argue with.

I think they could have done a lot better with the styling, but why did Autospies change the title from:

"Acura Nails the Cruiser: Tech-packed flagship RLX inches us ever closer to our future"
to
"Is Packing The RLX Full Of Tech Enough To Overcome A Dated Design?"

That is hilariously biased, come on...I'd rather Autospies not talk about Acura at all if this is the alternative...

Cleveland, please already. I defend Acura because of stuff like this, exactly what happened to the thread title. And 00R wonders why I, nor probably anyone else, bothers submitting Honda/Acura-related articles anymore? Kudos to stype for giving it a whirl. Even when an article states, "the RLX is still competitive, feature- and performance-wise, with the S-Class Merc and the 7-Series BMW", there is still little respect shown.

So…whatever.

I'll appreciate Auto Spies for the positive reasons why I came here in the first place. Interesting, exciting new car introductions and reviews as well as monthly sales numbers.

The Acura RLX looks slightly better in the flesh than its photos suggest. Sure, the RLX's exterior design looks boring next to the Audi A6, Infiniti M37 and Jaguar XF. However, the RLX does not look out of place with the rest of the mid-size luxury category: Mercedes E350, BMW 535i Series, Lexus GS 350, Volvo S80, Cadillac XTS. While the RLX may not excite in beauty, its bland, mostly safe styling should not turn off most buyers either (though those rear lights could have been better designed). However, given this isn't a category full of stunning exterior styling, Acura failed to take advantage of this opportunity to produce a class-leading design. Given what their design team was able to do with the future NSX, I'm guessing that Acura's senior executives are responsible for the weak decision on the RLX's final bland design.

The forthcoming super hybrid, super handling, all-wheel drive, dual-clutch transmission version of the RLX had better deliver on factors like fun to drive, handling, performance, acceleration (sub 5.5 seconds), steering feel, ride, braking. If so, its 30 mpg combined fuel economy will give it a competitive advantage over its rivals and shake up this class.

Good god, Cleveland. The more you post, the more ridiculous you sound. Keep believing your own words.
