Volkswagen To Add 50,000 Workers In Quest To Overtake Toyota
Volkswagen will boost its global headcount to 600,000 by 2018 from 550,000 as part of its aim to become the world's biggest carmaker, works council chief Bernd Osterloh told a German newspaper.

"Volkswagen is growing, and is therefore continuing to hire in production," the business daily Handelsblatt cited Osterloh as saying in an interview published on Tuesday.

Volkswagen, which delivered around 9.1 million vehicles last year, has said it hopes to replace Toyota Motor Corp. as the world's top-selling carmaker in 2018.

...Okay, Here's the logic I think VW currently may lack in regards or in their desparation to overtaking a company like Toyota. Fix the leaking pipes (build quality issues) between the walls of your house first, then attempt to make your gains larger with added bathrooms than your neighbor's. This is just but one angle to look at this predictable outcome for VW. The obvious being, the larger you grow with the existing problems the longer it will take to overcome those issues. But Toyota did it under 4 yrs! Well, VW doesnt have an Akio Toyoda either....

Is that why TM is having all these recall/quality issues lately?

Funny because after my trip to Japan the one thing I noticed is that the Japanese have an insatiable demand for imported luxury goods, especially higher level European cars like the MB S-class, BMW 7 series and AUDI A8. Most of the MBs were AMGs. I had expected to see more LS's on the streets but they were topped by the European rivals. I wonder why?

Tell me where to send you the pics (which I have over 600) or the boarding passes. Just look at the pic from Shanghai dumbass! Tell me when you want me to change the picture here in autospies for something in Tokyo. I am not some loser like yourself hiding behind a keyboard and talking smack, probably driving a Corolla.

"In Japan, Toyota sells cars with the Toyota badge that are more luxurious than an Audi A8, a BMW 7, or a MB S-class."

- Which Toyota model would that be? Doubt that you'll even respond.

Obviously USNA meant the Japanese version of the LS aka Crown and from what I believe, Lexus has already introduced the Lexus brand back home. Toyota LF-A anyone? o.0

lexworld my point is that stype seems to be just like you making statements on things you don't have a clue since you have never experienced them. Talking smack and you have never own a MB, BMW or an LS and acting like if you were a spokesperson for TM.

Furthermore, the subject is about who is obviously and purposefully trying to catch a moving target and not really getting any better at it. Like I mentioned above, even if VolksVagen passes Toyota at whatever, they will have compounded their ability to keep up with their quality control issues which still lingers on with them from their conception. Maybe somehow the subtle curse of the Fuhrer is much more powerful than the motive behind the attack on PH back on Dec. 7, 1941 and its long-term effects. Or maybe it's just human error, give or take being the nature and level of gifts and talent endowed by our Creator.

lexworld exactly, the bigger they get the bigger they fall, just look at what happened to GM, Toyota is currently experiencing the same issues just look at all the recalls/reliability issues for the past few years. VW will also continue experiencing them with their pusuit of becoming the biggest market player. I guess the consumer is the one that loses as long as both TM and VW are satisfied by becoming the biggest car company which for people like myself doesn't make much of a difference when we purchase a car.

"just look at all the recalls/reliability issues for the past few years."

- They (the ToyotaTards) will never acknowledge this. He Lexworld brings up "recall this", and "recall that" while failing to mention that Toyota has just as much recalls (if not more) than anyone. Hypocrisy at its finest. That's how Toyota fans roll. Worse car fans ever.

Going running, ttyl.
