Obviously, the X5 is just a rebadged Golf that BMW lovers will buy without hesitation. The X5 stands for, you will pay 5 times the base price of the Golf for the same car.

The new X5 is another example of how Audi leads and BMW follows and is scared of Audi. Notice how the X5 had only 5 seats before, but all of sudden when the Q7 comes out with 7 seats, BOOM!!! The X5 now has 7 seats. Remember BMW, never follow.

It was known well before the Q7 came out that the X5 would have a third row. And it's not like BMW, after seeing the 3rd row in the Q7, could adujst the almost finished X5 to make it longer in a matter of months. So I guess Audi made the Q7 to compete with the X5 which they knew would have a third row of seating.

Agreed, I will give credit to the X5 for being the first with the Flexrays system. It will surely be an amazing technology. I have not been on the site for a while, so I became quite angry at all the stupid comments being written by BMW owners. I do agree with you Cartrash that 7 seats has been out for a long time, but never on a German SUV besides the M class which was huge. The Q7 was the longest developed SUV yet, and was going to have 7 seats from the get go way before the second generation X5 was even being conveived. But, yes, I should have posted that in another article blog section, but I was here and angry as I said. However, I do believe this flexray system will be quite interesting to read about in the near future.

I have no idea why BMW would be afraid of anyone. When I first saw the new X5 I was overjoyed. No offense Audi but I thought the Q7 was a little bland but it doesn't mean it'll be a failure. I'm actually more excited to see the X6.

That's a pretty stupid comment. By your logic, when Daimler made his 4-wheeled carriage in the late 19th century, all other carmakers COPIED him by also designing cars with 4 wheels? Wow...

There are some very opinionated people on this site regarding their loyalty to particular manufactures.
Personally, I drive a 2001 BMW 325 ( lame 184 hp I know, I know) but I do have a 2007 330i on order. I'm curious to see what people are actually driving who post on this site.

Actually, it dosen't matter to me , but I was just clarifing YZ's comment. I was letting him know that it isn't " BMW folllowing Audi" or "Audi following BMW", it's just car companies meeting consumer's needs, and that is for a new premium 7-seater SUV from a premium brand. If BMW had a dollar for every consumer that asked "does this come with a third row?" or an Audi consumer asking " Where's the SUV?", they'd both be rich.
