Hyundai's Biggest Threat To Growth May Not Be From The Competition

The remarkable rise in popularity of Hyundai and sister brand Kia with U.S. car buyers has largely unfolded over the past few years against a backdrop of calm on the Korean peninsula. As tensions rise in the manufacturer's homeland, some are asking how unrest might affect Hyundai's surging global business.

The prospect of armed conflict between North and South Korea threatens manufacturing in the south, where Hyundai Motor Group is located. Japan, China, and the U.S. almost certainly would be drawn into any regional conflict that jeopardized sea lanes and air traffic. Hyundai Motor, in its bid for top-tier global status, has spread operations worldwide, constructing two U.S. vehicle assembly plants in the past decade, in Alabama and Georgia. The plants rely mostly on parts suppliers that also operate locally. About 57% of Hyundai's production capacity resides outside South Korea.

The governments inability to subsidize exports are the national champions biggest threat. All Korean companies operate under this same strategy. Sell at a loss to bankrupt the competition and buy white loyalty, then get the government to cover your losses through money or tax breaks.

Ok If the Experts in Geopolitics of US are as good and Evil as they were with Irak...this is the way that the war will come. North Korea Will attack with nukes Japan and South Korea, The US Government will allow them to do so enough damage to destroy their industry in Japan and South Korea, That will allow to the American and European Industry a reborn and survive for a long time....and We will have to pay the high prices for for useless and unreliable products again for long time. The "ONU" always hold till they see an opportunity for the main leaders to WIN something at ANY price. In Israel, nothing will happen till the people of Iran have nukes. They are just giving time to them cause this time is necessary a better justification to get in Iran (so real massive destruction weapons are necessary to justify the action)....Very Important note ...Americans are a great people but as anywhere on the world, most of the politicians are controlled by evil and greedy rich people with no moral. We need other revolution but World Revolution at the style of the French revolution and Kill all greedy people and corrupted politicians, if the can not be en-lighted then should be eliminated ...that would be the best for everybody. Sorry I was typing while dreaming...

You're clueless.

Half our nuclear arsenal is already parked outside Beijing. Light up their coastline and that's 80% of their population gone (what is that, about a billion people).
China isn't stupid enough to shoot the very country that made it what it is, a factory for lazy American consumers.

The only people who need to worry is China. If the Hobbit actually did something, the end result would be American forces standing at China's borders, setting up a garrison and pre-emptive strike abilities. You'll see China attack N.Korea before the United States does.
