I wouldn't trust anything this guy says, he tried to claim a lexus IS350 engine was identical to a 335i engine and posted made-up figures:

The lexus.com website states the IS 350 RWD has:

306 @ 6,400 for HP and 277 lb-ft @ 4,800 for torque. 0-60 is 5.6 secs

bmwusa.com states the 335i has:
300 hp and 300 lb.-ft. of torque at 1300-5000 rpms .0-60 is 5.1 secs

Check the websites and your figures next time.

Your little insults are only proving how much a lying douche you are, you were caught making up figures, please send us the link where this 335i and an IS350 were tested and have the same times... oh, that's right, because that's made up too and incorrect, much like your comments, you have absolutely no credibility here and that's been proven, you've been banned once before because you're a douche.

Strong sales, the new x5, 4 series, and 2 series will only help.

Yes, BMW might have increased its Q1 2013 global sales .2% more than Audi (7.0% for BMW vs. 6.8% for Audi) but BMW also sells many more models than Audi does both globally and in the U.S. market. In the U.S. market, Audi doesn't sell its Q3 compact SUV, which would the BMW X1 competitor, nor does it sell its A3 sedan yet, which would be the 1-series sedan competitor.

The only cars Audi does not have a direct rival to bmw with are the x6, and 5gt, which are both high priced and low volume. You forgot to mention Audi sells the A1 which is priced considerably lower than anything with a BMW badge on it, and it actually costs less than a Mini Cooper, and the A1 accounted for over 120,000 units last year...going down market always equals easy volume. If Audi didn't have the a1 they would be almost tied with Mercedes, once Mercedes offers an a1 competitor..2nd and 3rd will tighten up.

No, M5twinturbo, Audi does not offer a competitor to the BMW X1, 1-series sedan, 5 GT, X6, or 6-series Coupe. In case you are confused, the competing models look like this:

BMW 1-series sedan = No Audi Competitor yet
BMW 3-series = A4
BMW 5-series = A6
BMW 6-series Coupe = No Audi Competitor
BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe = Audi A7
BMW 7-series = A8
X1 = No Audi Competitor
BMW X3 = Q5
BMW X5 = Q7
BMW X6 = No Audi Competitor
BMW 5GT = No Audi Competitor
BMW Z4 = Audi TT

That makes 5 BMW model lines for which Audi has no direct competition. 2 of the model lines (X1 and 1-series sedan) are very high-volume models. 3 model lines (5-Series GT, 6-Series Coupe, and X6) are lower-volume, but when the sales figures are combined, still accounts for a lot of units.

Where is there a 1 series sedan? Can I see a picture? Lol. Also the q3 is on sale globally and competes with the x1 in all markets but the us, but is coming to the us soon. This article and the one you posted are global numbers so you obviously know we are talking global product line. So you should add q3,r8, and the high volume A1 on you little chart, and technically the a5 sport back.

Did we about the A1 and A3?

GermanNutGermanNut - 4/9/2013 4:14:20 PM

Ok, 1-series coupe then, but there still is no Audi competitor (currently only the A3 hatchback).

Yes, even though the Q3 is available in other markets, by NOT being available in the U.S. it SIGNIFICANTLY reduces Audi's U.S. sales numbers.

The R8 sells in such small numbers that it won't make a difference.

The A5 sportback may lack a direct competitor now, but the BMW 3-Series GT will be the closest competitor I can think of and the 3-Series GT will be out extremely soon, too.

The SUVs have been big sellers recently and by not having the Q3 for sale in the U.S. market, Audi will be missing a crucial SUV.

Guys, don't bother. Anything that gets posted about BMW that's even remotely positive, GermanNut is paid to poo poo on. And anything negative about BMW that gets posted, well, he gets paid to post. Sooooo... not worth the effort. Audi was my second favorite "normal" brand and his antics on here have basically completely turned me off them.

audi either doesnt want to, or cant give lease deals like BMW. as long as this is the case, audi will never beat BMW in sales.
once again i tried getting an audi, and the arrogant sales prick says " we are audi, we dont want to be bmw, bmw's are a dime a dozen" garbage.

I live in the tri-state area and a 2.0t a4 is currently leasing at $299 a month with $0 down, and a compatible 328xi is $349 a month $0 down. A6 2.0 is $459 and a 528xi is $498 a month to lease... Are you sure the sales guy wasn't gnut?

iamdabest1 and merce63amg, Audi has always said that being the number one premium luxury brand does NOT mean simply selling the most cars per year. For Audi, being number one means offering better quality and services than your competitors.

Audi CEO, Rupert Stadler, had this to say in terms of using incentives to drive volume:

"To be No. 1 requires a lot more than just selling more cars than your competitors... If we wanted to buy market share [via pricing and incentives], we could do it tomorrow. That's easy, but that's not our strategy."

With regards to the A4 deals that merce63amg found, on average Audis leases will be less competitive than BMWs. Specific dealers may offer better deals than BMW for some models, but the deal you found on the A4 is the exception rather than the norm.

they want 4k out of pocket and 1300 per month for a 75k rs5, i ended up getting a 77k m3 with 2 k out of pocket for 865 per month.. ( every option, competition package )
1300 for an rs5 is a total rip off !
