Ford Focus Rolls Over Corolla As Most Popular Vehicle In 2012

Ford sold over one million examples of its Focus last year.

That alone is impressive, but there's deeper meaning to the high sales statistic--for the first time, the Focus has overtaken its Japanese rival, the Toyota Corolla, at the top of the global sales charts.

Thanks to the U.S. and Corolla-loving eastern markets, the Japanese compact is a familiar face on top-seller lists, but one market in particular has really helped Ford knock the Corolla into second place--China.

FixOrRepairDaily has always been a loser and truly has a loser in that car. When will ignorant individuals realize the car loses its value like any Government Motors and Chrysler does, faster than you can say "JUNK"

Exactly!!! The Corrola eats those cars alive in resale value. No it doesn't. But that doesn't stop "Thegeek" from trying to convince people that it does. Typical Toyota fan... Dissing the competing brands, while being hypocritical.

Lies. The Corolla has and always will be the best car in its segment. It's a Toyota for Christ sakes. It reeks of quality and pedigree.

Corolla is an antique. It is one of the dullest cars on the planet. So dull, in fact, that it's longevity is a drawback. In today's comparison tests, it finishes very low in the order.
Toyota has done little to this model, other than sheet metal changes, for many years.

So the numbers come from Detroit Auto news....gotcha. Apparently numbers depend on who you ask. If you look at truth about cars.com they tell you that the Corolla was the number 1 seller. But I guess it depends on what article you want to quote 009. Feel free to post the competing article 009.

I posted in the other article, just ask if the excluded models were included in previous years or not. If they were, end of story. If they weren't, then why the selective counting this year? Also, do overseas publishers come up with the same tally or is this a Made in America victory?
