And it is a diesel. (It is from next year's racing Le Mans version, it will never be on any production car) This is also a concept that will never come out. Peugeout is knwon for awesome concepts that have about 0% chance of becoming real vehicles. It just shows what the brand can do.

HELLO!!!!
Do you think a 700hp luxury sedan is going to compete with an Infiniti?

Its not coming out... how is this a competitor? I don't think one concept is going to take on production cars... which btw, bentley's most powerful W12 in current production is only 552 HP...
More like a Panamera/S65 competitor no?

Why don't you try a Maybach 57S?
Or thats not luxury?
Brabus CLS V12S?
My point being, there are better competitors that are luxurious and have more power than in Bentley's line up...

Let's clear this up. This is a concept powered by the diesel engine that Peugeot will use in next year's 24 hours of Le Mans. (this engine will never be used in any production car, this car will also probably never come out as well) If the car did come out, it could possibly very well be a competitor to the Bentley Conitnetal. However, it is powered by a race engine that CAN'T possibly be used in a production vehicle, also Peugeot has shown some very cool concepts recently that weren't even considered for producion.

We should look at it as an awesome concept car using a 700 hp diesel racing engine with a nice interior and exterior. Maybe some future Peugeots will take some styling cues.

yea, and some massive torque... a more powerful engine than the Audi R10s... But they will still lose to Audi!

The only reason they have more power is probably because they will be running a closed top race car that allows for bigger restrictors. Without restrictors (the size is about 1.5 inches) the R10 engine would have 800+ hp. Also, Peugeot hasn't actually built the engine yet, when they announced the specs, they basically used a dummy motor, as at that time, they were only doing 2 cylinder dyno runs. I agree I think the R10 will still win, but it will be interesting to see some nice competition.

It definately is a concept showcasing the latest from Peugeot. Hopefully they will take some of the styling ques from this and apply them to future cars like the 407 which to me lacks any kind of style. Peugeot makes better looking hatches for the most part, but I think if done right on a car like the 407 or 607, maybe they can have some good looking sedans....

caltrans, correction:
he is stupid
audis apparently use inferior chassis, awd is a gimmick, lexus's aren't good cars, and bmw is the best car in the world no matter what anyone says.

I love this vehicle, it makes the new Mercedes S & CL, and the new Lexus LS all look so bland. Unfortunately even it is sold in limited numbers I doubt Peugeot will try selling any in the US.

How does a post about a new Peugeot model spark discussions about VW and Audi?? I'm getting sick of the lame posts (not on autospies part, but posters) and how every blog turns into a "my car is better than yours" debate.
I think that car looks sweet, evil.
