The All-New Mercedes-Benz S-Class Will Be Here MUCH Sooner Than YOU Think...

Mercedes-Benz's all-new S-Class is something that we've been waiting for. Though I am not sure if I love/hate what I've seen so far, what I do know is that it will be a significant step forward from the current product.

I can only be THAT confident because Mercedes-Benz is KNOWN to always make a big stride when it introduces an all-new product, particularly the S.

But according to the latest, the S-Class will be out MUCH sooner than originally anticipated. It almost seems unreal given the lack of fanfare from Mercedes-Benz HQ. Expect the deluge of information to start in May — yes, some of the tech's been noted but expect MORE.

And according to a U.S. press release, the vehicle will "launch" in September. From what I gather, "launch," means hits dealers.


The new Mercedes S-Class will be revealed at special event in 15 May. Auto Express will review the 2013 S-Class in July, with the car expected to get its motor show debut at the Frankfurt show in September. The S-Class release date for UK customers is thought to be around October 2013.

From what I have been reading this will be a technological wonder with a more upscale interior....however, I would have liked MB moving the design in a new more forward thinking direction. In pictures it looks so so similar to last generation (?).

Completely agreed.

The current-gen vehicle is a bit...old-school...to be polite. It's a very well done interior quality wise but the style is so poor.

Now the next-gen car seems to be going even MORE in the wrong direction, IMHO.

Agent00R even more in the wrong direction according to who? The current s-class especially in AMG kit is probably the best looking large sedan in it's class. Old school for old money. Funny because im young and would prefer the s to any of the competition. Sales figures agree. The two huge kidney grills on the 7 are horrible. The a8 looks like a streached a4. The interior is nice but still nothing special. The new S-class just raised the bar, the competition is sitll having problems with the old s-class.
