RENDERED SPECULATION: BMW's Next-Gen X6 To Get MORE Hardcore

The BMW X6 should be considered a landmark vehicle for the brand. Even though it may have been shunned at first, it seems to me that this was one of the first products that proved that you could take an existing chassis, sprinkle some panache on it and you'd come out with something unique and admired throughout the biz.

I would credit the X6 as the first modern four-door utility vehicle to make a sloping roofline socially acceptable. Acura loved it so much it introduced the ZDX, which actually looked pretty good. The problem was Acura went a bit too extreme and created a vehicle that lacked practicality in the back seat.

Back to the X6.

According to reports from the U.K., the next-gen X6 is said to be getting a more aggressive treatment while getting longer at the same time for better rear seat legroom. The latter part I find somewhat silly as I could fit a 6'3 passenger in the front seat and in the back — without changing the seat whatsoever.

All of this said, what do YOU think should be made more aggressive on the X6?

My guess would be that BMW will design a more detailed front/rear valence, add some interested side skirts and, possibly, lower the stance on the upcoming X6.

Looks like a 5 Series GT that went to the gym. I was never a fan of the X6's looks and this concept changes nothing for me.

The current one wasn't for everyone but it was one of those cars that looked like a concept car on the road and I think that was it's appeal.

I hope they do they same with the next one and don't dumb it down design-wise, like the original Merc CLS vs the current one. Once the Germans latch on to something successful they don't tend to be adventurous with the design.
