They will make it tiny like the old ranger. I just don't believe they will do it in the form of a Tacoma size offering. Would prey on their cash cow.

An eco-boost v6 tacoma sized truck would be a lot of fun.

These sized trucks do well in many markets, Australia, South America, South Africa, it would be interesting to see if they do well in the States.

They used to sell pretty well in the states but prices on a base full size started making people think twice. Not to mention the fuel economy being nearly the same.

I saw above that someone voted down my post but a tacoma size ranger with the current f-150 ecoboost would be an awesome truck. Even small diesels like they have overseas would be compelling. The price and the fuel economy have to beat the full size by a good margin though for it to make sense.

I've had a couple of Toyotas, but they lost me with the current gen. It's too big for me, and I've heard this from others, as well. Interior kinda sucks, too.

We had an 05 Tacoma quad cab as a work vehicle at my old employer. It was okay. Much more comfortable than a s-10 or ranger but the fuel economy was less than great and the power was mediocre. It could get out of it's way in the city but struggled on mountain roads. Overall, it wasn't bad but with the purchase price and fuel economy, would have been better off with a domestic full size. As for the size of the tacoma, I think it was about right. If you have a family, it's a capable option. If they had a diesel like they do in the Hilux variants, i'd strongly consider one as a DD. It does look big but it was easy to park about anywhere. The step in height was high for some but I didn't mind it. The interior (just like many Toyota offerings) are definitely in need of an upgrade. No argument there at all.
