SHANGHAI AUTO SHOW: Honda's New Concept C Gets Beaten With An Ugly Stick
The Honda Concept C which previewed the sedan that will slot between the Honda Civic and the Accord debuted at last year’s Beijing Auto Show.

The production version of the car called the Honda Crider leaks just hours before is official premiere at the Auto Shanghai 2013. The name is derived from the words, “Criteria” and “Dream”.

The sedan tucks below the Honda Accord but above the Civic. This market segment is booming in the Chinese market and Honda Crider is one of the early entrants. The car will be built by Guangzhou-Honda joint venture, just like the Accord. Though the company hasn’t finalized any plans, the export prospects of the car stays alive.

Just when you though Honda couldn't do any worse with a design, this comes along.

The shape of the body is nice looking. The front fascia just needs a serious redesign. The picture on top looks good except for that weird snout going down the center of the car.

If they were trying to combine Dream and Criteria they should have chosen Diarrhea as the car's name. More fitting.

Put a Korean name on it and Americans will be all over it.

absolutely hideous.

It's like the creators of the Concept C were completely sober when they designed it. Then they went out and did major hallucinogenics when finalizing the production version. WTF????

I think they are designing for a specific crowd. I've been to ASIA many times and have lived there (I'm from America) and I can honestly say people in asia has a very different taste in general style. There's a trend in Asia where they like neon lights and bold/loud designs. For example, I see 5 series GT and X6 ALL OVER the streets of Hong Kong.

Just to put things into perspective...

I think it's pretty funny how they have some body styling in there to make the car's tiny lanwmower wheels look bigger than they actually are.

Where's all the Honda fans claiming that Honda's designers "are doing such a wonderful job" (including their bird beak version). This looks TERRIBLE!!! They MUST HAVE hired those jokers who designed the new Jeep Cherokee front end that recently came out. Those two design teams should get together. I'm sure some sucker will "love it". Buy away folks!! Not I

Honda went from just plain boring to Oh God what happened to that.

This is not a nice car and even Honda knows it. That's why they try to dress it up with all of the mascaras (flame surface, overdone grill, etc.).

Yikes! It resembles it's ugly brethren the Honda Crosstour only with red lipstick applied.

I think the car looks beautiful. Absolutely love it. May be the color choice is not that great bit the design is awesome.
