2013 Audi A4 and 2013 Audi A3 Recognized by USAA as Best Values
For the Midsize Luxury category, the 2013 Audi A4 was named 'Best Value' among the segments 'Preferred Vehicles'. The Preferred Vehicles included the 2013 BMW 3-series Sedan, 2013 Lexus ES350, 2013 Lexus CT 200h hybrid, 2013 Lexus GS 450h hybrid, and 2013 Acura TL.

"In a very competitive category, the Audi A4 stood out due to competitive pricing and excellent fuel economy. This elevated the Audi A4 from the USAA Preferred list in 2012 to this year's "Best Value" list, marking its first appearance as a Best Value."

For the Wagon category, the 2013 Audi A3 was named 'Best Value' among the segments 'Preferred Vehicles.' The Preferred Vehicles included the 2013 Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen, 2013 Scion xB, 2013 Honda Fit, 2013 Scion xD, 2013 Ford Fiesta and 2013 Nissan Juke.

"This year marks the Audi A3's first appearance on the "Best Value" list. The A3 is the best value in its class, based on low MSRP, and it receives high marks in fuel efficiency and safety ratings in addition to lower insurance costs when compared to other vehicles in its class."

"Best Value" vehicles rose to the top in 16 categories for offering the best financial value of all vehicles USAA evaluates as part of a proprietary vehicle rating system called USAA Preferred.

The United Services Automobile Association -- the insurer of 9.4 million U.S. military members and their families -- released two notable lists Friday.

The “best value” list credits vehicles of various types that rank well in affordability, safety and reliability. The second list features the top cars for teen drivers also based on safety and reliability, as well as reasonable insurance costs.

To determine which cars best meet the selected criteria, USAA used its proprietary rating system to score each contender. Cars that make the cut are then categorized as USAA Preferred vehicles.
