In addition to the Concept M, Honda also brought forth the Acura SUV-X to the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show. Much like the M we've supplied you with the studio photographs and release information fresh from Acura/Honda; however, that doesn't exactly do the vehicle justice.

Video always help place an object you typically see in motion into context. So, that said, we're going to try help you out here.

While YOUR feedback has been pretty negative, I still think this is a much more intriguing route to take for the big "A." For me it's particularly difficult to think of a really moving Acura product in its lineup. The SUV-X concept, to me, at least makes me feel something.

Wearing those high-riding LEDs and that large front grille, it actually sort of reminds me of the all-new Jeep Cherokee. And that's not a bad thing, my friends.

Take a look at the video clip below...

OK. I'll bite. It appears all of the pro-Acura folks have abandoned this site for good reason. I only came here looking for something I saw a while ago.

Anyway, I do think that this is a good direction for Acura, at least in parts. Yes, this car kind of looks like an alien fish gone wrong, but there are elements that Acura can take to their design language globally. Specifically, the treatment of the (not even sure what to call it) boomerang grill element is such an improvement over the current treatment, much more elegant and stylish. In addition, some of the sheetmetal curves are attractive, but it needs to be toned down.

I still think Honda's Urban SUV concept and the European Civic Tourer concept are more successful advancement of design and a better indication of where they should go. I wish/hope they create an Acura product through that concept as well,in addition to a Honda product. Hopefully, this Acura concept is specific to China only.
