Judge Sentences Couple Guilty Of Attempting To Sell GM Secrets To Chinese To Only 366 Days In Prison

A former General Motors engineer convicted of stealing thousands of pages of hybrid technology was sentenced Wednesday to just a year and a day in prison, far below the punishment sought by the government in a case that involved her husband and an alleged scheme to take the trade secrets to China.

Shanshan Du's right arm and right leg shook as she tearfully expressed remorse. U.S. District Judge Marianne Battani said economic espionage is a serious crime, but she also noted Du's health problems and the seven years from FBI raid to trial and sentence.

"I don't think the public needs to be protected from you, but it needs to be protected from others like you," the judge told Du.

Welcome to Obama's America where those who steal from us are forgiven, and those who plan on taking what's ours are given it.

Once again, Obama's brother in Beijing makes a phone call and Obama answers.

Good grief you're an imbecile. The judge was appointed by Clinton anyway, if you're eager to blame presidential administrations for random judicial sentences. What, if the article had said "3 years" instead of "366 days" you would have refrained from posting your drivel?

btw, our Africa Command uses Chinese satellites for communications. I guess we can't blame Obama for authorizing that right? Must have been authorized over 5 years ago, probably Dubya.

Sciros - spot on. Blame everything on the President (any President). Hey, it just snowed 8 inches in Minnesota this morning. Blame it on Obama for the global warming that caused today's weather specifically in Minnesota at the specific commute hours. Do you know how much credibility you lose with that kind of comment HughJass?

Another thing HughJass - everybody knows how much you hate the Koreans and the Chinese but constant blaming Obama for their behaviours gets old after a while you know.

Strange, doesn't seem to be a problem when your constipation is George Bush's fault.

Obama's half brother lives and married in China and you have no suspicions as to why he's allowed to live their untouched? You've lived here far too long, or were born here. My Chinese friends think Obama is the 2nd best President China ever paid for, #1 being Clinton who opened the flood gates for their cheap garbage exports.

They've told me the Chinese newspapers...after our elections were over, openly applauding Romney, saying he would have been the better President (and probably laughing their asses off at our stupidity).

You seem to ignore that the feds outline that they should get 6yrs but the judge ignored it. Any issues with that or would 6 years mean the judge was racist?

The Chinese will applaud any Democrat, not just Obama, because they think hawkish Republican president/Congress makes it harder for them to do trade. Just like Americans don't like any country that gives American companies a hard time selling our goods/services in their country. Big surprise there HughJass.

As to your comment about the judge's sentencing, yes, let's mobilize our FBI, CIA and God's know what intelligence agencies out there to get that taped conversation of Obama telling the judge to reduce the sentence.

Correct me if I'm wrong but there are 3 branches, Executive, Legislative and Judicial. The prosecuting arm is part of the Executive branch and they recommends the 6 years, so isn't it essentially Obama and his legal representative that is recommending the 6 years? The judge would be in the 3rd branch of gov't (Judicial), which is not managed by the White House. They defend the law passed by Congress (Legislative branch). So why don't you take up the beef with the Judge and that branch? What has that got to do with the prosecutors their boss, the President?

Pansy judge doing what Dumbocrats do, letting dirt bags off easy. Someone mentioned Clinton appointed this loser. Same party, save slaves to the Chinese.

I'm sure they played into our "white superiority" mentality by playing all pitiful and no speak English BS that everyone from terrorists to spies are taught to do.

It's unfortunate we let your sorry asses into our country, you'd think you'd show some respect for what my forefather built and you leaches take.

I like how you guys dance around the fact "your" President has relatives working for the Chinese government and he chose to move to China.

Don't worry though, when the bullets start flying, I'm sure we'll lump you all together.

On an unrelated note. I laughed so hard the other day when "your" President was still talking about shutting down gitmo. Wasn't he supposed to wave his hand and make gitmo disappear 5 years ago?

Bush builds missile defense and now this slave gets to claim he's protecting the country when the left was all in arms because Bush wanted to defend us.

Did you just call President Obama a "slave"? You need help, a whole lot of it.

Yes I did. When Beijing tells Obama to do something, he does it, like a good little slave. China didn't pay good money to fund his and Clinton's campaigns so their "purchase" says no.
