SPIED: Mercedes-Benz's S-Class Coupe Spotted AGAIN In The Wild
There's been a lot of coverage so far of the all-new Mercedes-Benz S-Class expected to break cover come May 15 but while we've already shown you exactly how it will look, we're moving onto the new S-Class coupe — formerly known as the CL-Class.

As a competitor to the Bentley Continental GT, the new S Coupe will really have to "bring it" this time around. Given what we know about the all-new S' technological tour de force on its way, we'll assume it'll be much more of the same in the S Coupe.

Though we've seen spy shots of the S Coupe previously, what makes these new shots unique is that they show a much smaller volume of glass than we've previously seen.

Note the much higher beltline? Check out the HUGE amount of space between the top of the rear wheel to the glass.

Latest spy shots show the S-class with a narrow glasshouse and a dramatic swage line that runs from the front wing to the rear wheelarch.

The rear of the S-class Coupé features LED lights and a unique design that appears, in disguised form, unrelated to any other Mercedes models, including the new S-class saloon.

This might change the "big coupe" game! Can't wait to see it!

For some strange reason, I have never thought of the CL (or S Coupe in the near future) as having a "competitor". It's kind of like the Porsche 911 although the 911 to a lesser degree. I don't mean to say "competitor" as another car with similar performance, luxury, features, price, etc. What I mean is that the people that are considering the SL, the CL and to a lesser degree the Porsche 911, don't really consider other cars. They have set their heart on this model and that's it. Would be interested in hearing people that actually own these cars.

That's one thing i've always liked about MB. Whereas other manufacturers stick to certain sizes/configurations to maximize revenue, MB has a niche for everyone. Even better they even offer AMG versions of almost every one. Sure it may mean individual model sales are low, but at least someone out there can get the configuration they want.

In my opinion, the only competitor to the CL-Class or now S-Class Coupe was the Bentley Continental GT.

The battle of the "land yachts."
