Toyota's three high volume SUVs (FourRunner, Highlander and RAV4) all receive substantial updates for 2014. In addition the Avalon is doing well, and the Corolla continues to surprise with great sales numbers. So what could go wrong for Toyota ... in my opinion one word "Camry".

The Camry is a depressingly boring design and looks ever so cheap when parked next to a Ford Fusion, Honda Accord or Kia Optima. If I ran Toyota's product development effort I'd be rushing a complete exterior redesign of the Camry, and in the short term I would be trying to enhance the content of the current model so that it can compete on features, if not on style. It may still be the best selling car in the US but the current model may be doing irreparable damage to Toyota's image.
