And YOU Thought The Lexus LFA Was Expensive? Get A Load Of This Toyota's Sale Price
I remember it like it was yesterday. The Lexus LFA debuted and jaws were agape. The 10-year mystery was finally solved. Of course there was one problem though. The price was over $300,000 when most folks were expecting something more in line with about $100,000 to $150,000 per unit.

Then you had folks bum rush the party with the whole Nissan GT-R argument.

Looking back on it though, $350 large is chump change. That's because the equally cool 2000GT just sold for a whopping $1.2 million dollars. That's Ferrari money right there, folks.

This 2000GT was a rare left-hand drive car — one of 62, out of a total of 351 built.

A 1967 Toyota 2000GT sold for $1.16 million at auction in April, defying the Japanese brand's image as a maker of affordable vehicles and becoming the most expensive Asian car ever sold.

The 2000GT has been called "Toyota's E-Type" — a reference to the gorgeous Jaguar sports car from the 1960s — and "the best car you've never heard of."

Doesn't hurt that it was a Bond car as well.

The LF-A was overpriced and you know it! Also, your comparison between the LF-A and this classic(by age) Toyota is crazy. It would be like comparing a Ford GT to the GT40.

P.s.

Yes the LF-A was a better car than the Ford GT, if only because of the LF-A's engine and the fact that it was not assembled from a Ford Parts bin and marked up 300% - 400% from Ford and another $10,000 - $50,000 by the dealer.

We are just talking prices, not a head-to-head comparo, bro.

And yes, I'd agree the LFA was better than GT but it should be given the premium plus years to develop.
